I was a little hesitant buying because of some of the reviews on this website. Through my own research, I found out this builder has constructed over 3,000 homes in SW Florida over the past 40+ years. I decided to purchase and I'm glad I did. The quality of construction is good and this builder's pricing is the best in the area. I had a few punch list items that were promptly addressed after my closing. My monthly payment with taxes and insurance included is under $2,000.00. I could not be happier with my purchase. I have no hesitation referring this builder to others I know.

I gave them 3 stars because we really haven’t “worked” with them. We signed our contract on March 2021 and we still have no idea when our build will begin. Covid and supply shortages is always the answer. I have to say that Holly always gets back to me right away when I reach out to her. We were so joyous last year dreaming of our home but we’ve lost some of that joy. We just want our house.

I love my new home and my $1,800.00/month payment...it sure beats paying rent. I have nothing negative to say about my experience. The builder even sent over one of his workers to install my kids' new swingset in the back yard.

Buyer Beware. I closed on a home built by Snyder Construction AKA SRQ Port Charlotte LLC 246 John Ringling Blvd Sarasota, FL 34236 today. They never fix the items on the punch list. The driveway was poured in the rain and is stained all over (see pictures below), they refused to fix it so I have to take them to arbitration. The shower head was installed 3” off center I told them about this before the tile was completed, they said sorry it’s staying that way. One mirror in the master bathroom was defective, drywall repairs where atrocious, they scratched my upgraded granite that I paid $1,500 for, they never install the window trim in the master bedroom. I just noticed today that the rear sliders to the pool do not have the proper insulation so bugs and lizards can’t get in.
Nightmare builder stay away, you pay top dollar and get poor workmanship and cheap materials. After you sign the contract it’s all over. We waited over and hour for the final inspection they never showed up, John Brennan (salesman) asked me to send him the punch list of all the items that needed to be fixed after telling me his inspector could not make it. I sent it days before the closing and he never responded until we were at the closing table. The final product did not meet my expectations and they did not care. The listing agent John Brennan from Coastal Living Realty LLC who is also the notary for closings did not care he sat at the closing in front of my attorney and lied to us, he said that all the items on my Punch List with the exception of the driveway we’re done, when we got to the house after the closing nothing was done.
The Title company SRQ is owned by a Snyder has zero communications they don’t answer the phone. Once they get the CO they email you and say we are ready to close, it says in the contract that you have 10 days to close so if you’re getting a mortgage be extra careful you could lose your deposit if your financing is delayed according to their sales team.
There are reputable builders out there that actually care about what their buyers think of their build, Snyder is not one of them in my opinion and based on my experience I would never recommend them to anyone who cares about the quality of construction and customer service I'm not sure if the owners of this company actually know what their crews are doing, if they do then shame on them, I would never put my name on this type of workmanship!!
They get 1 Star because Zero is not an option.

This builder constructs a couple hundred homes per year and the handful of negative reviews on this website are certainly not indicative of my experience. My new home was delivered on time without any issues. The price was far better than anyone else offered in the area. I have nothing but positive things to say.

We went into this knowing that the Snyders had a reputation of being unpleasant, difficult people to deal with, but we really liked the Sunshine 4 floor plan. We were very disappointed by the kitchen because the appliances are super cheap. The stove is absolutely basic and the refrigerator is counter-sized - 20.7 cubic feet as opposed to the normal 25 to 27 cubic feet. The cabinets were not as pictured for the model. We would have chosen to upgrade if we had known. After we signed in September of 2020, the price for the house went up by $5,000. By the time we closed, the same house was listed at $25,000 more, so we dared not ask for anything, given the builder's reputation. Overall, the house came out okay. We did have an electric and a plumbing issue that were resolved early and the roofing shingles are pretty thin. My e-mails regarding two minor items have not resulted in resolution of the issues. I did not receive a reply to my second e-mail. I didn't think asking for some touch up paint for the bathroom door was too big a request considering there were several of these homes under construction in the immediate area. The pocket door was scratched by a huge chunk of caulk inside the wall. (The caulk was holding the towel rack.) The other issue was that in the guest bathroom hardware in the tub didn't match the faucets. I believe we were lucky in that the house came out pretty good and it's just a crap shoot as to the quality and experience of the workers at any given time.

The worst builders ever do not trust this builder. We were under contract with Snyder builders and while we were under contract they sold our house for 35000. More and they would not refund the all if our Ernest money because the new owners MY NOT like our paint colors we pick out.
All they want is your money and snyders builders does not delivery. Very dirty and crooked. Please reconsider before you go with Snyder builders. -

I recently bought a Snyder new construction. Love this home every element inside and out of this home is top quality. Great value for what you get. Since we moved in we had a few items we needed repaired and Snyder was very quick at helping us with these items. Would highly recommend a Snyder home.

BE AWARE
Extremely ignorant builder
As soon as you sign a contract with Snyder their rule is
“ take it or leave it “
They will KEEP your deposit and they will sell your home to somebody else
Thinking going to Court
Good luck with that

We closed on our new home on January 7, 2020. The kitchen island kick plate was not installed as of February 12,2020. Numerous request have been made to complete the installation of the kick plate, but received no response. It is the only item remaining to be completed on the walk through. We would like this taken care of.

Great company , very pleased with how my house turned out! Recommend it to family members and now have a bunch of new neighbors!

Earl Snyder is a ghetto builder. We bought one of his dumps and it's been nothing but a new fixer/upper.
Drywall seams not tapped and cracking
Garage floor cracked
Lanai floor cracked
Shower corners with globs of caulk 1/2" wide instead of grout!
The place is nothing but an over priced dump.
3rd grader could do a better job.
2 months and our is for sale.
WHAT A GHETTO BUILDER
Drywall screws never covered and just painted over
Knockdown texture looks like candle dripping and never knocked down
Granite counter with chips
See light through exterior door weather seals
24" interior stud width
Drywall walls are 3/8 to 1/2" instead of 3/4" like respectable builders ( Tap around with your knuckle and see the walls vibrate)
Texture streaks, too many to mention! -

I would not recommend this company either. We bought our home 9 months ago and STILL cannot get the electrical problems we are having fixed either. The grout in the floor is crumbling apart and our bathroom tile is is the worst job I have ever seen. We have been in contact with his contractor, his realtor, plus others. Still waiting.

By Karen S.August 25, 2018Bought a new build through his realtor$159,900
Many negatives about our property but the most serious being the electrical. Day one 3 out of 4 of the outlets on the kitchen counter did not work. We contacted them, which they sent their electrician, but he fixed it by cutting the wire and hooked it into the refrigerator outlet. We did not know this until we hired an electrician because his would never come back after numerous calls. It was constantly tripping the breaker. We felt this was dangerous and since his guy never came, we felt it had to be taken care of. When our guy came, he had to run a new wire to do it correctly. We turned the bill in to Snyder but he refused to pay. Since then, we have had to have another wire ran at different location because of tripping. We are now having a third location. Very concerned of how this house has been wired. Many more concerns but the electrical is very concerning. I don’t see how this house passed inspection!! We wonder if money was payed under the table! When voicing our concerns to Snyder (through his superintendent) we were told we did not build a million dollar home. For our income it might as well have been. And now, the added expense of fixing what should have been done correctly the first time, is adding up.

RUN. We purchased our Snyder home while it was under construction in 2021. Since then, we have spent 10s of thousands of dollars sinking money into big ticket items for repairs. Theses have included the septic system, new air conditioning, electrical wiring and new breakers, and new sheet rock. We have also had to bring fill into the back yard to correct small “sink holes” due to the piles of boulders and rocks and other debris Snyder construction buried in our back yard during the building. Because of all of the shifting from the rocks and debris, our septic system had issues. The supposedly “new air conditioning unit” was installed incorrectly with not enough returns and was running with high static, WHEN it was running. Then the motor in the compressor blew. We had two different companies come out and look at it and both gave the “eye rolls” when they found out it was a “Snyder house.” Our electrical panel needed new wiring and breakers. The mirror and cabinet in the spare bathroom and both mirrored cabinets in the master bath were placed in the walls crooked. The two in the master bath were not level, with one being much higher and both were crooked. The mirrored cabinets themselves were plastic and the quality of RV cabinets. The plastic shelves inside bowed when you put anything on them. We had to install new cabinets and sheet rock to fix the issues. The power outlets throughout the house are at varying heights along the walls. Some crooked and some higher or lower to the one next to it. Dirt and insects were left in the grout lines when the tile throughout the house was grouted. Now it’s cracking and exposing insects and dirt debris in the grout lines. The listing agent for Snyder Construction, John Brennan, lied to us during the entire process. There was zero communication with him or Snyder even with our realtor and bank. We were told by Brennan to choose our exterior house color and front door color. Then he tried to charge us another $5,000 deposit to have those colors because, Snyder didn’t like the color. We chose another color. He never did paint the door. We had a friend of ours go to the building site each week and take photos of the progress. This was a person who worked 34 years, for a well known, reputable contractor in New York State. All of the photos and emails regarding the progress of the build each week, never “jived” with what we were being told by Brennan. Every time I corresponded with Brennan via email, I copied Ryan Snyder, our realtor and bank on the correspondence. Brennan would answer and take everyone off the routing and reply to just my husband and I. I would then forward everything to everyone else originally on the routing. We were told the house was on track to be completed in June. Middle of May, we were sent photos and a description of what was done by our friend. The only items left to be completed were some molding, the bathroom mirrors and shower glass. Brennan replied to my email questioning if completion was still set for sometime in June. His response was, “ your house is progressing right along.” I replied again questioning the time frame. He responded with “yes sometime in June.” I forwarded this all to our bank and realtor. The Wednesday night before Memorial Day weekend in May, a certificate of occupancy was dropped on us after hours. We had 10 days to close. Thankfully our bank knew what was going on. The only thing left was the appraisal. This is a recurring practice of the Snyders to keep your deposit and sell your house to the highest bidder. He was building the house next door to us after we moved into ours. The new owner had the same thing happen and had to get her lawyer involved. We have heard the same stories from other Snyder home owners. When we had our pool installed, the pool company had to remove all of the boulders that were buried in our back yard. We watched Snyder (along with our neighbors) bury boulders and what looked like large pieces of concrete in the front and back yard of the house while it was under construction next door and the one across the street. Last weekend he cleared the double lot adjacent to ours and yes, we watched him bury four massive piles of rocks and boulders in what will be the front and back yards of those two houses. An editor of a local newspaper has been doing an investigative report on the Snyders and was looking for all of this type of information. We have spoken with a code officer who all but said others look away because Snyder builds a lot of homes in the county. Read the disclaimer on all of the listings for Snyder homes. There is a blurb about the houses not looking exactly as depicted upon completion. If you think your kitchen will look anything like the photos, it won’t. There will not be a bump up with your cabinets over the microwave, you will not have elegant looking lighting and your cabinets will not be of good quality. If you have to purchase a Snyder house, hire a lawyer to represent you.
