Well we got our Solar System from SOLGEN.
Here is how it went for us.
Aug 30: Met with initial contact for SOLGEN. Went over everything. Sounded good. Signed up for a 51 panel system.
Sept 9ish: SOLGEN technician came. Checked roof with drone. Checked electrical panel. Documented findings.
Sept 12ish: Given final quote. Gave thumbs up. Final plan made up by tech's.
Sept 21ish: Was told that had to fork over a 1500 dollars for a new panel. At this point we didn't want to go through this with them.
Novish: Got called by another supervisor and was told that that guy was fired. Took some time to think about it. Finally decided since credit was already checked (dropping credit score) and loan was approved we would go with Solgen since federal 30% would end this year. Told they would eat the cost of the panel and keep everything the same. Exasperated at this point.
Dec 3: cleared loan. Ready for install. Called to schedule. Couldn't get started until Dec 19th due to scheduling.
Dec 19: installers arrived. Install began. Panel braces got installed. Breaker box completed. Electrical work done. Install had to be called short due to weather. Told that they would call next day to complete install.
Dec 20: No call at anytime.
1300: Decided to find out what was going on. They had no knowledge that install was called off. They had to find out what was going on. Got a call back saying they would there on 21st.
Dec 21: Had to take day off to be there for install. Installers came early and put panels up. Panel install completed.
Dec 30: Inspector comes. Install cleared. Also last contact with Solargen.
Jan 9: Benton REA shows up. No one is home. No fore warning from anyone. They cut power and finish putting up meter.
Jan 16: Wondering what the heck was going on with install.
1120: Called SOLGEN. Was told that install had been completed on 9th. No one had told us it was completed and ready to turn on. Now the reason I thought it wasn't completed was because that I had no way to monitor the system. Was told by customer service that we should have a device installed to do so. (Also the reason I didn’t think install was completed because we didn’t have the device). Looked everywhere in garage. No Device. Customer service told me that they would check and call me back. Got called back promptly. Apparently they FORGOT to install the device. Was told that we would get a call from installers the next day to have them come install the device.
Jan 17: Received a call around noon from installers asking if we could be home in 15 minutes. Told them we were at Costco and could be home in 30 min. Was told that was too long. Scheduled install for that Saturday.
Jan 18: Technician came early in the morning and set up device. Now I could monitor the system.
Now this is when I really got upset. Throughout the process I was assured that I would be able to monitor each panel individually. I love tech, so this would be something interesting to watch. I got access to see the overall power being produced, but not each panel. One of the only reasons I finally decided to complete the install was for this reason. I contacted my point of contact and was told yeah I should be able to and he would look into it. I received a call from customer service and was told that access was taken away from the end consumers since they were receiving to many call when the panels were not producing the same amount. (I understand that that they will produce at slightly different amounts. Struck me as funny because I was told people were calling in because the panels were off by 25kw. Now that is not a slight variance that is a significant variance.) I told them I was assured multiple times that I would have access to see all the panels. I was then told nope, that access is no longer available to the end-user. I hung up because I was going to completely lose it on this lady. So that is my exhaustive experience with SOLGEN Power. Hope it is helpful to some when considering using this company for your solar power needs. -

Solgen has been amazing to work with from the first interaction that we had with them. Their salesman was very knowledgeable and their installation team was professional. We love our solar system that we received through Solgen!
