    House rebuild ‘after house was destroyed by fire

    We hired South Water Construction to rebuild our home after it burned down in a fire. The house was a total loss. We wanted the house to be rebuilt on the same site and decided to hire SWC with Bill Mahler as the construction manager. I have to say things went fairly well for the most part some things that we paid for were never done according to our contract but we let them ride bc we just wanted to get back in our home. The main problem was the kitchen floor. Some workers who were doing other jobs at the house Approached my husband and said You Didn’t Hear This From Us But That Kitchen Floor Is A Mess . Sure enough after 3 tries with a different group of workers that had no experience with this type of work Mr. Mahler and his crew abandoned us and the floor and never came back. The last we heard or seen him was in May. My husband and myself are so disgusted with Mr Mahler bc we never thought he would do this to us. You see we are senior citizens and I am handicapped confined to a wheel chair and this floor is very dangerous to us. All other floor boards are sticking up and we know it’s an accident waiting to happen. To make a point we never even met or seen Marcello the co. Owner the whole time the house was being built. I guess we had to learn the hard way and and put our trust in Mr Mahler . This is just another case of senior citizens being taken advantage of. After they received our full payment before the job was done they left us with this mess not caring about us.     This guy has taken advantage of my 86 yr. old blind mother, put down tile floors and never grouted the tiles under the new kitchen cabinets, showed up 1 week late to start the job. The cabinet work is ok the flooring not professional , I have worked construction all my life and believe in doing the job right the first time. Very disappointed in his quality and Lowes for contracting him!
