As a first time custom home builder my husband and I entered the building process as scared as we were excited. We didn’t know quite what to expect and being in a business where I have worked with clients that have built homes and seeing some disastrous results I was probably a bit more skeptical than the average new home builder.
However, we could not have picked a better contractor than Jason with SouthTrust Construction to guide us through our trepidation and our entire home building process. Right from the beginning he was very positive and assured us he could deliver what we were wanting and not once did he ever waiver from that promise. When little issues would creep up (as they always do with building a home) he was quick to offer solutions and advice that kept us on budget and on time.
Not long after our foundation was poured the world came to a halt as COVID-19 struck. Hearing that building materials were possibly going to start becoming scarce Jason was quick to get with us and get moving on getting items ordered for our home as early as possible so that when the time came to install them we would have them without delay. His foresight proved immeasurable in keeping us on time with our build. His communication throughout our entire build was amazing - he was always right there to guide us through any questions or doubts we had and always had our back with the vendors that we used for our home.
I know that without Jason at SouthTrust Construction I wouldn’t have the beautiful new forever home that has exceeded what I ever imagined it could be. We are forever grateful.

I was promised my house would be done in 6 months but its been 16 months and it still isn't finished. Jason has repeatedly lied and promised results that he fail to do. The work has been substandard and I have roofing issues as well as a punch liist with multiple major issues, over 10 items. He has failed to properly supervise the work and normally only shows up at the end of the day.

Initial contact with owner Jason Roberts was pleasant & promising of our needs of new build needs on a property purchased in the area that he services. I gathered and emailed all items he requested of me in that phone call to never receive a reply. I decided to reach out via phone call, where he made some obvious excuses as to why I haven't received his reply and that he would send again. Not only did I not receive the email, but I did not receive a phone call. I telephoned again to inform that I hadn't received anything yet and that my husband would be traveling to the area and could meet with him, but still NOTHING! This Builder is Dishonest and is VERY POOR in communicating with you. Dishonest because he says to you he can provide services and then does not follow through on them and well the communication skills are obvious. This is a warning to anyone contacting this contractor to build their new dream home when there are so many other honest companies out there to choose from!
