If there was an option to award more than 5 Stars -- we would! Our project entailed a full renovation, and the result exceeds expectations.
From our first meeting it was clear that Fernando & Leo are experienced professionals with an eye for detail. Everything from design, material choices and responsive communications to effectively managing the various subcontractors was seamless.
As with every project, the design evolved as we moved forward and the ability to be flexible is key. We were impressed that any issues were always balanced with several solutions to choose from.
We highly recommend Spec Development for numerous reasons: they are very responsive, on-time, on-budget and incredibly invested in each job they take on.

Spec Development just completed a home remodel involving new cabinets, countertops, floors, painting, new trim and doors. The work was exceptional, on-time, and on-budget. Fernando and Leo are great at communicating; throughout the entire process they kept us in the loop. We made our selection for materials at their beautiful showroom. Hiring a contractor is a stressful chore, however, the team at Spec Development makes it easy! Thank you!

EXCEPTIONAL FROM BEGINNING TO END! We hired Leo & Fernando of SPEC Development for a total renovation of our Ft. Myers condo and to say they were unbelievably good is an understatement. We were so impressed during our first consultative visit as they listened, recorded every detail and made excellent construction and design recommendations that no other GC's who came through had done. I..e.: They explained that the stove top I wanted wouldn't work unless I modified my cabinets, or the sink I wanted would require a cabinet modification. The quality of their work is superior and they never cut corners on the finishes they provided. For example, the walk-in glass shower doors are thick, and super high quality, the soaker tub they chose coincidentally was the exact tub I had selected and was nervous to show them thinking they would tell me it was out of budget, and even the kitchen sink was the highest quality gauge steel.
Besides guiding us through our process and providing exceptional workmanship, their attention to detail and communication were second to none. I am an extremely detailed person and expect a generally high standard from service providers. Until SPEC, I have rarely come across people who function at my same standard. Leo returned every single call, text and email I sent over the course of 9 months (First meeting to completion of project). I never wondered what was happening with my renovation or when my call might be returned. When I communicated 10, 20 or even 40 details, Leo was on top of it and literally NEVER missed a single detail!! Of course, there were little things that needed additional attention throughout the process because they work with teams of contractors, but Leo & Fernando generally caught them before we did (did I mention we did our renovation long distance?) and if we saw something that needed a tweak or an adjustment, they were always in complete understanding and agreement and got it fixed ASAP. On top of an outstanding experience, Leo & Fernando have a team come in at the end and clean so that when they turned our condo back over to us, it was literally move in ready.
I would recommend Leo & Fernando (and shout out to Jessy too!) at SPEC Development without any reservation. They are the very best in all of SW Florida and we are so happy we found them to create our dream home!!

Spec Development is one of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are trustworthy, compassionate and stand by the work they do. Integrity is a word that is rarely noticeable when dealing with builders and if you are lucky enough to find one you stick with them for life. I can assure you, Spec Development will be the last call you will ever need to make!

We just completed a remodel project with SPEC at our condo in Bonita Springs. They fully gutted and remodeled our kitchen, three bathrooms and installed new flooring in three bedrooms. They also stripped wallpaper and painted all ceilings, walls, trim and doors. We chose many of our finishes from their showroom in Naples. We are very happy with the end result. They did what they said, were on time and on budget. The communication was excellent throughout the process which was particularly important to us since we were out of town for the duration of the project. We would highly recommend SPEC Development.

THE BEST REMODELING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
We’ve engaged in several remodeling projects over the years and were hesitant to begin another one – especially when we were told over, and over again, that getting quality work completed in a timely manner in SW Florida is nearly impossible.
But, when we saw the quality workmanship performed at our neighbor’s by Spec Development, we decided to move forward. What we didn’t realize is how EASY it would be to get the results WE wanted. Our project included a new kitchen, baths, floors and electrical work – all quality workmanship, completed on-time, and up to code. We are so very pleased!
Leo and Fernando are very cordial professionals that excel at customer service. They understood our requirements, provided expert advice, offered fair pricing, consistently kept us informed of progress, and completed the project without any problems or delays – all from nearly 1500 miles away!
It was an amazing experience and we’re looking forward to the next one! -

Renovating my kitchen and bathrooms had me feeling very nervous. After talking to the folks at Spec Development I started to calm down a bit. They answered all my questions honestly and explained all the steps and details of the process in a way I understood. The actual work was excellent, on time, and within the initial estimate as promised. Very professional and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a general contractor!

Yes, I recommend Spec Development, they did an interior build out for an office and were extremely professional, great service and answered their phones every time we called (hard to say about many companies once you hired them to do the work). They provided many options and definitively knew what they were doing. They met the date of completion which was extremely important.

Spec Development was exceptional on my project; from initial contract signing throughout the completion of the work they were communicative and responsive. Construction is not a perfect science and things come up as you move along; Spec Development always kept us informed and provided solutions to each situation. I highly recommend them... also the cost to quality result was one of the best.

We hired Spec Development for a complete renovation of our condominium, including replacing all flooring and windows. Leo and Fernando have a high level of experience and integrity. The quality of their work is absolutely meticulous! Our project was completed on time and on budget, without any change orders. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. The outcome of our condo greatly exceeded our expectations! Leo and Fernando are very creative and excellent communicators, and emailed us progress reports about every 10 days (since we live in Michigan). I would highly recommend Spec Development for any construction or remodeling project you are considering!
