My experience was horrific. I wish I'd never heard of Hugo Macario and Spectrum Renovations. I don't know what kind of scam they're running but Macario is not the licensed contractor he claims. Spectrum is not insured. Their insurer refused to renew on ethical reasons.
They charged me over $18,000 to finish a half done kitchen and replace a deck. They made a shambles of everything, damaging my new appliances, driving nails and screws through the front of my new cabinets, making dents in the floor, drawing big pencil lines on freshly painted ceilings, installing lights crooked, leaving wires exposed in walls, trimwork that had huge gaps and warped right away, cabinet spacers that fell off, a fence gate that wouldn't open a week after they left. But the worst was the dangerous work. They replaced a support beam with something that didn't hold anything up, installed exterior french doors that had no proper header and, as the engineer I later hired stated, would have imploded in any kind of mild wind and did allow rain to pour into my dining room, installed a deck with footers resting on sand only, installed a pergola with interior nails and tapcons and whatever they could find sticking everywhere except into any kind of support beam and installed a gas stove without properly hooking up the hose so I had a serious gas leak in my house. They are unskilled, dangerous and operating illegally. RUN!!!!!
