Our septic project started in November of 2020. Steve Jr. originally told us it would take a week while Sr. later told us two weeks. It took the entire winter. We were asked to pay half the cost up front and the other half upon completion.
We paid the first half up front and at then the second half at the end of January 2021 when Steve Sr. said the job was complete except for the hole in the driveway that was filled with gravel "temporarily" until they could do a real asphalt patch in Spring as the weather needed to be 50 or above. I later found out that Steve was lying about the job being complete because my engineer informed me that the septic system had failed inspection which Steve was completely aware of but deliberately withheld so we'd pay the second half.
It took several more weeks of constant follow up to get Steve to make the needed repair to have the septic system finally pass inspection and resulted in us paying the engineer for multiple inspections throughout the process. There were many dates the Speidel crew was supposed to be there and never showed up nor did they call to reschedule.
Finally the system passed and Spring was looming so we began contacting them to do the asphalt patch to our driveway. Again, they made weekly promises to do the work and each time did not show nor call. After two months of playing these games it is painfully obvious they have no intention of completing the job since they already got their money.
They are very dishonest and very unprofessional in their unresponsiveness. I would not suggest them to anyone. Beware if you are considering working with them.
