spencer construction was hired to measure our kitchen for a remodel and pass along those numbers to our kitchen designer who was working at home depot. The employee did not measure correctly costing us time, money and aggravation. we talked to the employee who came out to take the measurements as well as and the owner of spencer construction and while admitting that the mistake was theirs they were not willing to take responsibility for that mistake. our latest message for the owner of spenser construction went unanswered. we wanted to write this complaint to inform potential clients of the shady business practices of this company and to let spencer construction know that it is not ok to take money for a specific task and then not preform that task correctly.

we hired spencer construction to measure our kitchen and supply home depot with a kitchen floor plan. hd would then use the spencer construction floor plan / measurements to design our kitchen remodel and order cabinets. randy [employee] from spencer construction came out and took all the measurements and told us he would send in the finished floor plan to hd in time for our next scheduled meeting.
at our next meeting with our hd designer he told us that the info randy provided hd could not be understood / used by the designer as he basically sent a copy of the notes he had taken rather than the completed floor plan. randy eventually forwarded the finished floor plan to hd but at this point our 2hr window w/ our designer was almost over so we had to take the next available appointment weeks later.
during the kitchen installation it was discovered that the floor plan / measurements spencer construction had provide home depot were up to 3/4 of an inch off and the cabinets ordered from a third party company would not fit. this caused a chain reaction where we had to spend weeks trying to cancel our last order, pay a contractor hundreds of $ to remeasure and meet with hd to give them the correct floor plan. we also had to wait for availability to reschedule installation. all this while we had no usable kitchen sink, cabinets, dishwasher, oven or microwave.
I talked to randy and steve [the owner] and explained the issues we had and even though they were paid to preform a service that was done incorrectly they will not accept any responsibilities for their actions. all recent attempts to contact steve have been ignored. we will update the review if there are any changes.
