Spicer Concrete contacted our rental store (we are located in Pasadena, MD) for rental equipment they needed for a job they were doing in Ellicott City. They sent in a young man they hired from Craig's List to pick up the equipment for them giving him a credit card under the "Spicer" name. We never got all of our equipment back (they claim it was stolen off the job) nor did we get full payment. They quickly cancelled the credit card so we could not try to use it for payment. No phone calls to John were successful. Professional company? NOT!!!!!

concrete pad for garage and driveway
    $11,200
    Never hire

Same as many here I hired Bud because he seemed genuine and knew what he was talking about. He started the job and walked of and never completed and I gave him almost 7K. He left my yard a mess and unfinished and failed to answer texts and phone calls. Tell everyone to stay away from his company. Very unprofessional

    Spicer concrete is fraudulent

Beware Spicer Concrete. The guy has NO clue what he is doing. He operates out of PA, but goes into Maryland without the appropriate licenses and illegally performs substandard work. He is listed on Buildzoom with a good rating, but look at the ratings, they are all posted very close together and fake reviews.

The "Bud" character is really John V. Corsaniti III, he and his father have a long rap sheet in MD and PA for performing home improvements without a license, theft, bad checks, terrorist threats, assault, both have done prison time. He is using the name illegally of his wife's company (Trina Spicer)

DO NOT believe the good reviews on the Buildzoom website...if you look at them, you can tell they are fake just by the wording..its obvious the same person wrote all the reviews, even the locations they were posted from are all the same...come on now, who gets 4 positive reviews on very large jobs all on the same day...

His wife is "Trina" and not sure if she is in on the scam, but something is going on fishy there too.

I lost almost $10,000 from this crook. Need more information, email me. I spoke with the police today and they said they would file charges against him.

He also has NO INSURANCE, if you look on the PA website, it says he does, but I went to file a claim and they cancelled it due to him being a felon.
Just don't want others to be scammed.

Here is a warning from the Attorney General about him:

    Stay Away!

Horrible final product, horrible service, con artist, all talk and "take your money and run" business. STAY AWAY. If you value your money and want quality work! And it appears THEY are the only ones who post the positive reviews. Same poor grammar is in their ads AND the "positive" reviews!! Go figure.

Poor product and NO customer service

Poor - Spicer Concrete did NOT complete the job. I gave them 50% of the job CASH up front to pay the local vendor and they did NOT pay the vendor for the blacktop and the vendor came after us for payment.

The blacktop has several sink holes and they will not come back to correct and they did NOT complete the filling in of several exiting holes in the walls which they originally said would be covered over by blacktop and then said they would just fill with cement and did neither.

The last thing is they said the Blacktop job could be done in December but the blacktop has started to was away.

The last thing I will say is the service is worse .They will not come to solve my exiting problems. If I do NOT get resolved, I will continue to post the other problems and will add pictures. I am now pursuing leagal counsel for small claims court.

    Con man

I contracted that con allegedly named Buddy Spicer.( Not his real name) to lay a paver patio over top my existing concrete patio. He took $10000 down payment and never completed the job. What he did do is leave my yard in disarray. DO NOT USE SPICER CONCRETE!

Do you have lawyer? You will need one!

I found this company to be one disappointment after another. If you don't want to read further, trust me and click back to your search for someone else. Otherwise, here are the events of my day with this company. First, the foreman visits and promises X, the owner shows up days later (weather prohibited the start until then) and says he does not do this type of stamped concrete but can offer something else (suddenly the foreman was fired). Hmmm...that's funny bc the foreman had a brochure and knowledge on this product. Ok, strike one but let's move on. Then, I proceed to assist with the work bc my worries grow as no tools are present, no wheelbarrel when you have come to pour concrete, and there was not enough wood to form the patio. I leave to try and actually get in hours at work to return in the afternoon, with the concrete truck now on site (and paid for by ME), the leveling is shotty and half-a$$ at best (meanwhile what have you done for 4 hours...that's right, you left), no expansion joints were present to form the patio as I had asked, and the color was not what we asked for (mind you we were "sold" something the company apparently couldn't even provide). So, being somewhat knowledgable, obviously, I confront the owner about this level of work and he proceeds to take offense and WALK off the site with paid concrete waiting to be poured. Read it again, waiting to be poured (already paid for by me and no refunds). I have 2 witnesses to the event; both of which will likely have to testify in court as I move forward legally. Bottom line, click "back" right now and find someone else.

Be very careful what you ask for with these guys. Bud is very friendly on the phone but is not very responsive to the customer. It took 2 weeks to show up on site and nothing was documented. I was not looking for a finished show piece but the surface had to be usable to install carpet on. I made the mistake of paying soon after the pour was completed and not getting a good look at the "finished product". I am into the second week of trying to get the initial job fixed and Bud is a no show when it comes to doing the job right or living up to his promise. No wonder they are a small family owned business Cheap rates and even cheaper finished products and service.

We called 2 concrete companies the first gentlemen was extremely high out of our price range then spicer concrete came out the price they gave me was fair within my budget. I contacted spicer to get a quote on some work in my driveway. I had an appointment and nobody showed up for the appointment. when I called the foreman to see if he was still coming, I was cursed out and hung up on. I was then called back and told that his wife is a psycho and to blame, cursed out and hung up on again. not professional, and not trustworthy. DO NOT USE!!

I'm a general contractor that had spicer concrete do some demolition and finish work on some trenches and a wall in a factory ,the job I paid for is not the job that I received .though bud was friendly and knolageble the work was amiture to say the least .the job took 2 times as long as what it was scheduled for the finish work was horrible, there form gave way on the wall witch needless to say the wall has a bulge in it .there was no clean up at all on the job and it apears that I have to haul there trash and forms away even though they promised to come get it.

I found the posting for Spicer on Craigslist back in October 2013 I called and spoke to John said him and his wife were the owners. I needed stamped concrete work installed at my home around my pool and yard area the price was a bit more then others but he was convincing with his language and the ability to do the work in a manner as we have discussed. Months later he left my yard in disarray and a total eye sore. I had already paid him thousands of dollars the one patio section they installed was not level and had to be dug out all the debris was left in my yard and no work has been done for more then two months. He called me to ask for more money and said he could not proceed where is the money I gave for the deposit? what kind of owner does this to a homeowner? DO NOT!!! use these people he and his wife and workers are not professionals and will not do as they say nothing in the contract has been done as agreed on.
