A large pine tree fell on our house, and so (once the tree had been removed) I had several roofers come out to provide bids on the job. Michael Governor of SRJM Contractors, LLC came and gave a reasonable bid (not the lowest but reasonable). Michael inspired my confidence with his professional manner and 5-year labor guarantee because in his words, "I do the job and, I do it right the first time; so I am not afraid to guarantee my work with a higher guarantee than most people in my trade." I hired Michael who began the work a few days later. So much was my confidence in him that I paid him the entire amount for the job up front (something I will never do again prior to a job's completion). Michael replaced the shingles on the roof and 5 plywood planks that were either damaged or rotting. However, after that he disappeared leaving the fascia board and gutter unfinished (I have a big hole on the side of my roof where he was supposed to repair the tree damage). I tried to contact Michael who said he would be by in a couple of days to finish the job. He never showed. I called Michael and emailed him many, many times trying to make contact. After almost 3 and a half weeks of trying to reach him, I found another number for him and called but the number belonged to his teenage daughter. After asking her to have her father call me, Michael finally called. He apologized and gave personal reasons for his not having returned. I told him that it was fine but that he needed to maintain communication with me even if he couldn't return to finish right away (it had now been almost a month since I hired him). He agreed and said he would return the following week to finish. I told him that would be great, but that if for some reason he could not to please communicate with me. That was the last communication I had from him, and that was almost a year ago. I have called multiple times and sent emails, but he does not respond. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Beureau, Angie's List, and the state board of contractors, but he still doesn't respond. Do not hire this man to work on your house!
