Working with Thomas of St. Mary's Construction was probably one of the best decisions I made when I had my house remodeled. I had bought a property on Long Island to move from Queens but the condition of the house was bad so I was looking around for construction companies in the area and found out about St. Mary's Construction. I had done a full demolition and was able to even extend the size of my house, making it bigger than I bought it at. Building the house from the ground up in less than 5 months was basically a dream come true and right on time for my kids to start at the new school distrcit. The house came out to be amazing just like many of the other houses I had seen before choosing to go with St. Mary's. Additionally, Thomas was a very polite contractor who was always attentive at the scene and always updating us with the status of the project. If you're looking to get any type of home improvement work done, I highly recommend going with Thomas at St. Mary's. It was truly a pleasure to work with him.

The project cost was $410,000. First off, do not ever think about hiring thomas. He does not work himself but hires other parties to do the work. The other parties he hires are unprofessional, and break and steal other items in the house. Thomas does not even pay the workers enough money and they don't come come back to finish the work. This guy has given us an unreasnable amount of stress and it is just unacceptable.
He threats us to pay his workers the money they ask for when we are only supposed to pay Thomas. He says that he will remove the work done if we do not pay his workers when it's his job to pay who he hired.
Please do not think about hiring this guy. If i could i would not give him any stars.
He overcharges, hires unlicensed people that are thief's, he is lazy, and he doesn't want to spend the money we give him.
****Know we have to spend $100,000 extra with our money to fix the
- broken staircases
-bad plumbing
-brick wall is cricked(not leveled properly)
-new siding
- new house stones
- new patio
-new deck
-redo the entire basement
-new hvac work
- redo kitchen cabinets
The list just goes on and on. We have been on rent for 2 years when he promised us 7 months. We know about 5-6 other families that have been stuck with this guy. He is disgusting, rude, cheap, lazy, and deserves to be sued!

St. Mary’s Construction Inc does not even deserve 1 star. I wish I could give them a negative rating. We have had the WORST possible experience and from what we hear now, we are not the only ones. THOMAS JOSE KOLADY of St. Mary's Construction Inc has deteriorated to a level that is no longer acceptable nor tolerable. There has been numerous issues in his work resulting in many on going problems from reoccurring delays in our house completion to inaccurate construction, falsely claimed completion dates and a lot of costly re-work. I have never been more frustrated. St. Mary’s Construction Inc has also been overpaid and is hoarding our payment without continuing any construction. Despite us repeatedly having already expressed our concerns to the owner of St. Mary’s Construction, Thomas, there has not been ANY attempt on their part to improve their performance. We have even served a notice of time of essence but he still failed to comply. We have tried reasoning and extended the contract due to his delays multiple times also yet he did not meet any deadline. He has continuously mislead us, deceived us, spoken RUDELY, insisted not to bother him even though no worker would show up for weeks to do any work, has cotinously ignored our calls, texts and refused to meet up to talk on the issues to come to a mutual conclusion. We are unaware of why St. Mary’s Construction Inc is not continuing to complete the construction as our contract states. We have always been direct and professional with them along with giving them numerous chances; they have always been paid on time and in fact overpaid as of now and they are hoarding our payment.
St. Mary’s poor performance include:
* Installing material against our choice despite us raising the concern before hand and after
* Incorrect design of house as per architectural plan
* Unstable framing
* Incorrect plumbing
* Incorrect insulation
* Incorrect electric work
* Incorrect installation of staircase
* Incorrect installation of sliding doors
* Incorrect Installation of windows
* Incorrect installation of bathroom material/positioning against the plan
* Lack of manners and communication
* Unprofessional tone of communication (very very rude)
* Delays of construction completion repeatedly with false promises
* Breach of contract on multiple contingentsWe had to get ALL this above mentioned REDONE!!! He would not even allow us to choose material to our liking but make up an excuse how he has already ordered the material! This was supposed to be a project that took 6 months but it has been over a year without completion and he has just bailed!
We have been overly burdened with an over cost of hiring a new contractor, a lot of reconstruction, delays in house completion, increased interest charges, and most importantly the deterioration of my husband's health to the extent where he is suffering from stress and heart issues all at once dealing with Thomas. This has been by far the worst experience throughout our life that we do not even wish upon our worst enemy. Building a house of your choice is supposed be a dream come true and he has tarnished it for us. Please be aware.

I absolutely loved the work of this contractor for my newly built house in Floral Park, NY. He was very professional and thorough with the details of the job. We were ready to move in on the date he had said! His staff was very polite and professional as well. The contractor would notify us of any new updates frequently, which I really appreciated. Overall, a wonderful and smooth process thanks to St.Marys Construction! I can’t wait to have guests over in my beautiful new house!

August 18, 2017After fire construction$380,000
St. Mary's construction Inc. is working on our house mentioned above, 85-36 Lefferts Blvd. They have been dishonest with us as well as in the list above. We have been quoted $360,000 and they have only mentioned $263,000. They have been unprofessional in every aspect, the job was to be completed in 4 months, but we are on the 5th and more than 80% of the job remains unfinished. This person we are dealing with is Emmanuel Thomas has been rude over the phone by hanging up on us numerous times and also claims the reason why work isnt being done at all is due to his employees not listening to his commands. Our structural engineers have informed us that he has made numerous mistakes on the beams that hold our structural integrity. He has denied meetings and refuses to come to the job site to oversee the project. This has and is a complete nightmare. I would never recommend this contractor, also i am appalled that build zoom had one positive review for this company.

Wow, working with Thomas from St. Mary's has to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. In May 2021, I had just closed on my new house in New York. The house was old and needed a full renovation. I was looking around for multiple contractors in the area, getting quotes for different contractors and among 5 contractors, Thomas was the best fit and I had trusted him since the start. Construction started by end of September 2021. By mid-march, I was able to move in to my newly renovated house and words cannot express how happy we were with the overall job and service from Thomas and his team. Despite a couple of snowstorms, the job had continued with no delay and we were able to move in an entire month earlier than expected. 5 months for such large job was absolutely incredible. The most important part when it comes to renovating your house is to get an honest and humble contractor and construction company and Thomas' characteristics were exactly what we were looking for. Always available for any questions we had and always helped with any changed that was needed/disliked. If you're looking for a construction company whether its for a small bathroom renovation to even building a new mansion, theres no man better than Thomas. I would highly recommend this company. Thank you so much!
