Positively the worst electrician I have ever dealt with. Stanford Electric was sent out by First American Home Shield, (FA.H.S.) home warranty company. The electrician looked like he had come from a night of partying and had slept in a car for days. He was very curt and refused to replace a light fixture that was dangerously corroded. He said the reasons were:
1. The insurance companies never reimburse him the full amount for fixtures.
2. He would have to go buy the light and if I didn't like it he would have to return it.
3. He said he could take the now flimsy fixture apart and rewire it for four or five bucks.
4, He also said he would lose money on the entire call if he replaced the fixture.
Interestingly enough, he most likely would have billed F.A.H.S. for his repair time which is more pricey than replacing the fixture. Before he even touched anything or opened his tool box, I sent him on his way. I immediately notified F.A.H.S. as he drove away.
Consumer beware!

I was expecting worst after reading these two reviews. My home warranty people had made the contact. Doug called me after a few days and came on time. I was still wary, but with minutes he and his able assistant had identified the problem which two other electricians had been unable to diagnose, and repaired it in less than an hour without having to tear out the ceiling (as one electric co. Said would be necessary). Appearances can be deceiving I guess.

Stanford Electric was the choice of First American Home Shield (Home Warranty Company) to repair faulty circuit breakers for my client and family member who we had just sold a home to. He did not show up when the warranty company had indicated... then rudely informed my client that he scheduled his calls... not the warranty company. Then when he did get to the home... he could not duplicate the problem.. replaced one circuit breaker to placate the client and get paid by the warranty company and left. He did not address at all why multiple circuit breakers were popping each day... and left the home in an unsafe condition.

Stanford Electric was dispatched to my rental condo in order to fix a fluorescent light fixture in the kitchen. Doug arrived at my tenants door reeking of alcohol. His demeanor was surely and his attitude was rude. He told my tenant that the "ballast" required replacing and was not covered under my Warranty policy and left.
In fact, my warranty policy was all inclusive and the fixture was covered. I'm glad he did not go up on a ladder in his inebriated state although I would have appreciated the repair which was already paid for.
I called and spoke to Doug directly and he was just as rude to me as my tenant stated he was to him.
I would honestly advise that you avoid this company.

AHS had dispatched Stanford Electric to my home for electrical repairs, I had some problems with the Dispatcher, however once Doug arrived at my Home he quickly diagnosed & repaired all of my electrical issues, he even went above & beyond what was covered by the warranty.
I Highly recommend
