First, let me write that I did some work as an electrician, carpenter, and plumber in my younger days and feel very confident in judging any tradesman, in this case, an electrician. Mike Stapleford has done quite a bit of work for us, in the house and in an outside studio building in which he installed the HVAC heat pump and all of the specialized lighting. He has removed old and installed new ceiling fans, wall switches and outlets, lighting fixtures, and ran power to and installed an outside post light - we have a stone house, so that required a little more effort! He has done air-conditioner checks, furnace (boiler) and thermostat maintenance, and every other electrical problem/project we've had. He arrives as scheduled, works diligently and doesn't waste time, and his charges have always been very, very reasonable. He doesn't try to "sell" more work than necessary, as in, "As long as I'm here, you also need...(but don't), so I could do that today." except for things that do demand immediate attention and/or other small jobs that WE discover. He has great patience (my wife is the most non-or un-mechanical person in the world) and is very clear and explanatory, and he has returned when she has needed even more explanation, mostly about the studio heat pump and programming it.
We would highly recommend Mike Stapleford to anyone seeking an electrician of the highest caliber, honesty, and who has more than fair pricing. To those who just want the cheapest job done, he is probably a terrific choice as well. He is simply an outstanding person and a great electrician. We will continue to call on him for our electrical needs long into the future. Others should follow our lead!
