  build a metal building

  Star buildings and Carports failed to do anything right from start to finish. Their salesman, Mitch Bratton of DunRite Buildings and Storage in Grayson, LA is a recent convicted felon. For drugs, thief, malfeasance in office, just to name a few. Yet Star has him as their salesman. He out right lied and deceived me. Once the contract was signed and deposit paid, he would not answer phone calls or emails. Star would not honor his promises which caused a nightmare of issues. Star communication is horrible. A bunch of young kids that do not understand the basics of the product. The managers were lacking basic knowledge of the product, lack of communication, lack of help, lack of all things you would think a manager would handle. Installers said they would be there on Monday afternoon, reschedule for Tuesday at noon, show up after six o’clock and were planning to come back next day. They do not understand that a person must take off from work to be there causing much inconvenience, lost of time and money. Installers were a non-speaking English crew of Mexicans. Communication was difficult at best. They only got half of it done and it was over a month later before they came back to finish. Yes, over a month later because they kept saying we will call you back to schedule and not. The work is about what you expect, bare minimum due to lack of knowing the correct way and just didn’t care. If I had not been there to oversee, they would have done a much worse job. The product is subpar at best. The metal beams are only welded on two sides or held together by one small L-bracket. I can see why I have read in internet reviews that so many of Star buildings have been blown over by strong winds. As well, as many others have the same story that I have, a nightmare. They are crooks taking your money and leaving you with a subpar building. Horrible product, horrible service, and horrible experience.

  Put up a metal buildig

  I hung around as they were putting up the building! Don’t know if that helped or not, but when I noticed something out of placed (i.e. putting up the lean pitch that was about 2 inches too high) I didn’t have to say nothing, because it caught the attention of one of the guy’s and they rectified that problem before going any further. However, after completion of putting the metal up on the back side, I notice the screws weren’t matching with the panel. I called the company and as of today, still no answer. I went to a metal business company and purchased the proper screws myself and they finished the building by inserting the color coded screws. They put up a 30x42 in 2 days to my satisfaction and I love it!

  Install a garage

  BYER BEWARE!! I purchased a 30 x 35 garage from my local dealer who sold Star Buildings and Carports on 11-20-21. The estimate they emailed me clearly outlined what was to be installed along with color selected by Star. This was to be installed on 12-28-21. The company sent the wrong header and didn't have the correct color. I was told they would have correct material sent within 4-5 hours so that construction of the building could be completed. Three days later (New Year's Eve), the company finally had installers sent to install the garage. The color was still wrong and because they didn't have the specs for this size garage, two of the three garage doors were cut to the wrong size causing them not to have a long enough tract for the garage door (it's short about 4 inches on both sides of the garage doors). On 1-3-22, installers were to come and install correct tracts. Nobody showed. On 1-6-22, installers came without notice and began tearing down the front of the building to correct garage door size. I told them to leave and come back with the correct tract and that they were not going to disassemble the building. I then notified my dealer and Star Building and they agreed for the owner to come meet and talk. They were aware that the balance due was not going to be paid until an agreement was made. After many attempts to settle this mater and never getting a call or meeting, I emailed them on 2-21-22 the amount was going to pay less the deduction. I will NEVER do business with such an incompetent company and highly recommend others to research this company before giving them the time of day. Never once was an apology given or any type of concern expressed. BUYER BEWARE!

  Erect metal building

  Worst company in the world to deal with. I just called 15 times in a row, and no one will pick up the phone. My install was not completed, and they keep lying to me and the dealer about when they will be out to fix the issues. They obviously don't care about their customers or their reputation, and should have their contractors license yanked for deceptive business practices. My 30X35 building leaks, the panels are not completely screwed down, there is a broken window and a broken roof strut, along with over 18 panels of siding that are scuffed, scraped and bent. We've lost 3 complete weekends of work on the interior, as we can't start building out until they fix the above issues. I'd give zero stars if I could, and am sorry we ever got involved with this company. The "F" rating on BBB website is well deserved.
