Statewide Construction

I recently purchased a house and my realtor gave me information for Statewide Construction. I reached out to them to get an estimate on some home repairs that were found by a home inspector. I paid $150 for an estimate and I was told that I would get that money back when I had them come out to do the work. However, their estimate was almost three times higher than 3 other estimates I received from other contractors in the area. Because Statewide Constructions estimate was so high I did not choose them to do the majority of my repairs. I did contact the company to have them do a few repairs so I could the $150 back from my estimate that I paid them. When I set up the appointment with Clay, I asked how I would be credited back the money I paid for the estimate? I was told by Joyce, the office manager that everything on the estimate had to be completed in order to get any money back, which was not what I was told before I paid $150 for Statewide Constructions estimate. They were not even willing to give a 5 or 10% discount for the work even after I had paid them for a ridiculously high estimate. For example, they were going to charge me $158.50 to replace 3 smoke detector batteries, $365 to replace a lower sash of a bathroom window. When I showed their estimate to other contractors they said there prices were absolutely ridiculous and this company is ripping people off.
