Continuing my review that I accidently entered before I was finished. Basically, they did not do several things they were supposed to do, such as sand the chipped areas of all the brown door frames and then paint them. They did do two of them, the other seven they touched up with a stain pen that will not stay on, not that it matters because they look like crap. They painted sloppy, leaving drips down my tile in the master bath, and many other little things. However, where they really messed up was, they attempted to refinish my solid wood French doors, made two attempts and now they look like trash on an abandoned building. At first, I was offered $400 off the bill, but ended getting $1,800. I have hired a licensed professional who specializes in wood refinishing, and he will start next week, it will take four days and cost $8,200 to do. I am looking forward to having him work his magic. Adriana told me that due to the doors being exposed to the sun and water they will never look new. However, she is wrong. If you strip the wood of the old sealant and stain, do several levels of sanding so you have raw wood again, then clean the wood with a solution to clean off the impurities and bring out the color, you then apply an oil base penetrating stain and then apply 3 layers of marine grade polyurethane and they will look good as new. I have the know how I just can't physically do it myself at my age and with my knees. I am still very upset that I ended up with the mediocre paint job at best, something you might see in a older rental unit, not in a nice home in Rolling Hills, cost me $10,250.00.

paint interior of house, refinish exterior front door and exterior of French doors

I had a terrible experience with this company. They were referred to me by my realtor. I hired them to paint the interior of my house, which included all walls, closet doors, door jams, patch and refinish hallway paneling, paint bathroom cabinets white, paint bathroom mirror white to match bathroom cabinets, and refinish exterior stained wood French doors that had become weathered. I went through the whole house with Adriana explaining what I wanted and to make sure they were capable of refinishing hallway paneling and French doors. First of all she collected more than the 10%, but not more than $1.000 deposit allowed according to California Contractors State Licensing Board, which I was not aware of this rule. Second from the beginning I had issues with the quality of their work. Their work was substandard at best, I had to ask for them to re do several things from the beginning. Doors and Shelves that had dings and dents in then were not filled sanded and then painted to be smooth, they just painted over them leaving the area look cheap and crappy. 'the closet doors were originally smooth, after they painted them it look as if they had an orange peel texture to them. This was because they used a roller to apply paint and did not follow with a slightly damped paint brush to make them smooth as they should have been. Same for the bathroom cabinets. Adriana stated that i did not tell her that I wanted to have bathroom mirror from painted white to natch cabinets (both were originally brown) When I informed her that I did want the mirror frame to match the cabinets that it was right above she told me that she would not charge extra and that i could just tip the painter what I felt like tipping him. I asked her how much I should tip him and she said it was up to ne. However during a text with her to inform her that the worker did a terrible job on the French doors, so terrible they would need to be completely re done she proceeded to tell ne that i might not want to have the mirror done anymore because the painter wanted $400 (materials included, which I do not know why they wouldn't be since they were using the same materials that they used to do the cabinets) to do the mirror because it will be a lot of work to do it. I had no choice at this point as the cabinets were already painted white and i was not going to leave the mirror brown. However it took the painter no more 45 minutes to tape off the mirror, sand lightly, then spray paint the mirror frame, which unfortunately he spray painted the hinges as well and it is already peeling off. After that they worked on sanding down the French doors again, left the doors open while sanding, resulting in my entire house having a film of dust from the sanding all over everything!!! Then proceeded to so call refinish the doors again. Big mess again. The second time around was a big mess as well. These workers absolutely do not know how to work with wood and wood finishes. They look absolutely awful. When I let her know, she said just to point out the spots that I am not happy with and they guy can fix it real quick and it wont take long. Are you kidding me? They are 12 French doors that extend all along my living room to the dinning room. They are solid oak with beveled glass. I told her that the entire thing needs to be re done, however I do not want her workers to touch it as they obviously do not know how to do it, they could not get it right, not even close the first two times. I let her know that she should not charge me for the doors. She offered a $400 discount. I had to have my realtor and broker come up and see the work that they had done as they referred me to this company and they give them a lot of business. My realtor and broker both apologized and said they were shocked at how awful the French doors were and basically what a poor job they did on everything else. The brown door jams that had chips in them and needed sanding and painting, well they did sand and paint 2 of them but the rest they used one of those stain/paint markers to touch up the chips. I was livid when I saw that as the marker pen will not stay on it, it has already come off and onto some of our clothes as we walked through the door jams. Adriana did accept that I will only pay her $3,200 of the $5,000 balance that was owed if everything was done correctly and that was requested and on the proposal. However I still feel that I way overpaid for the job that I received. Lesson learned on my part. I thought I was hiring a licensed contractor that had licensed workers, who had experience and knowledge of what they were doing. I ended up with work done from unlicensed workers working under someone else's license. Never did anyone with a license once show up at my house. What a complete waste of my money and time. I have hired a licensed professional who specializes in wood refinishing to do the French doors, which will now cost another $8,000.
