By Felicia T.September 4, 2021Knob and tube removalResponse from Stella Electric December 5, 2021There is little truth in the review. Ms Truax is a professional NON-Payer according to my legal representation. Hence the need to lien her property just before her closing. I was not supposed to patch really anything and the entire home was in very poor condition, the holes that were left at the last minute were left by a contractor she hired who failed to complete his work and wanted me to come back, truth is she should have paid more like 7500.00 she got a deal-

Peter J. Stella
Owner
We hired Peter to get rid of knob in tube in our house that we were selling. He knew the urgency, as it had to be done before we could close. He stated he could do the job in time and quoted us $1500 for the first floor. He showed up and pulled all of our ceiling fans/lights down on the first floor on the first day. He then stopped coming and did not return until 2 weeks later, leaving us with no fans on the first floor in July and without most lights. Almost every evening during the 2 weeks he would text and say he would be there and then never show up or text. We were supposed to close on Monday and he finally showed up the Thursday before that to do the job. He cut humongous wholes throughout the whole entire house that we had to have a contractor come fix and he never used a drop cloth or anything, getting plaster and dust all over everything including our beds and clothes. He left nails, drywall and debris everywhere when we have children and pets in the home. Peter was super unprofessional when he was in our home, multiple neighbors brought to our attention that he would yell and swear and slam our doors when we weren't there, to the point that they would hear it and come check to make sure everything was okay. The second floor ended up having knob and tube as well which Peter missed in the original quote. When he finally "finished" the job, he had missed a whole room and another outlet in the mater bedroom. He also left lights not put back together. The quality of work was awful, with the plaster patches behind the lights so thick that the switch plates would not sit flat. He put most/all of the light switch plates and outlet covers on crooked or super loose and wiggly. The ceiling fan in my sons room was left with a hole around it. None of these things were this way when he started the work on our home. When I contacted him regarding the quality of work and the items left unfinished, he told me I was just trying to get out of paying. Oh, and the final price... $5700...nearly 4 times what he originally quoted us for crap work!
We paid more than half of the bill before the work was completed and he "kindly" offered to let us pay the rest after our closing because we would have made money from the sale of our home. BUT even though he offered, he went and placed a lien on our property the day before the closing which delayed us another day plus he tried to lie and get an additional 2000 beyond the 5700 by stating I had only paid 1000 whwn I had paid 3000 prior. Luckily for me, I had paid with check and could prove through my bank account that the money was in fact paid. Oh yeah and he never completed the work. I would NEVER recommend Peter, he doesn't show up as promised, he is unprofessional, the quality of his work was awful and he bills you for way more than the quote.
