We had a terrible experience with Steve Jolley Builders (SJB). We hired SJB to do a bathroom renovation beginning last October. The renovation was painfully slow with poor quality work and eventually no communication so in April we had to fire SJB with about 75% of the work done but no indication when or if the remainder would be completed. SJB provided us with one worker who showed up irregularly, worked short hours, accomplished little when there, and did poor work (one new wall is not completely vertical, many tiles are not properly set, unprotected floors have permanent stains, etc.) Jolley himself showed no interest in being responsive, in making us happy. Also, we were badly inconvenienced, confined to a small portion of our home for six months while this painfully slow process was going on.
We saw no reason for these problems. We paid each of his billings in their entirety within 24 hours, all design work was provided in advance, we purchased all materials well in advance and they were on site well before needed. If you choose to work with this contractor, the same could happen to you.
