    I take no pleasure in writing this negative review BUT I feel I have an obligation to warn the public about Steven Burke, a general contractor and the owner of Home Upgrades in Westford MA. He damaged our property and won't take financial responsibility (he refuses to give me his insurance information so we'll be taking him to small claims court shortly). He charged us upwards of 15% for overages for demo work we had asked, explicitly, already be included in his final bid and he assured us was already included (no, we did not have any change orders- zero). He sent sexually inappropriate texts to me "I'd never laugh at you you're too hot for that" "or you can have your husband outside in one of your bikinis on and maybe I'll just drink a few beers and then I'll do it", he would quote one price ($400 for electrician) and then change it the next day ($800 for the electrician) for no reason (zero change orders) and when we would confront him it would go back down to the original price "how does $400 sound". He was over 4 weeks behind schedule (I had to reschedule out of town visitors) and this was because he only worked from 8-2:30 with an hour break for lunch most days. He was very inconsistent with cleaning up after himself (one day he left our expensive AV equipment covered in sawdust).
    I have never dealt with someone so dishonest, unprofessional and mentally disturbed and I have text upon text to back up my claims. I would not refer Steven and I would say run, don't walk, away from doing any projects with Steven Burke. His crew members, on the other hand, were very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with.
