THERE IS NO WAY THIS BUSINESS DOESN'T HAVE A COMPLAINT!!!! I filed a complaint on this business in May 2018. My home located in Phenix City Al, built in 2014, has a cracked foundation, my walls are splitting, I have replaced 2 door frames because of the massive shifting. I have attempted plenty of times to talk to the builder who seemed to be very nice while I was in the purchasing process but the receptionist/assistant or whatever her title is (Leighann Woodham) would not allow me to and I am guessing did not pass my messages. This is an ongoing issue that is progressively getting worse and all I get is the roundaround. I have finally had to file an insurance claim because I can not get any help. This is very unfair. On 6 May 2020 I called one more time to try to speak to the builder and Leigh Ann again told me that I only have one year warranty for a foundation, however, even with that logic I have been calling from the time I moved into the house. She also claims that someone came to my house and fixed what my husband pointed out. I know that not to be true because I am the owner of the house and I would have never not been there for that supposed visit. I have seen worker done on my neighbor's house around the same time that I first complained....the whole garage floor was taken out and redid. This lady claims that I had a one year warranty and I have been calling and sending pictures since I first moved in so it seems to me that I made the warranty claim within the time that she thinks I had. I have tried explaining over and over that warranties for structural defects are warranty issues that are covered under a homeowners warranty. These are builder's warranties. I have been told over and over (and again today 6 May 2020) by Leighann Woodham that I on;y had a one year warranty for ANYTHING in my home. SO she is basically telling me if I have a house built in May 2019 and it collapses in June 2020 and everyone in my family is killed then it is too bad so sad and Steve Corbett has no responsibility for it. I find that very hard to believe. I have found this passage and similar on my journey to research this problem. I was also told the same thing by my warranty company...According to the Federal Trade Commission, home builders' warranties cover all workmanship and materials used in the building of homes. Home builders' warranties, though, don't normally cover small cracks in brick, tile, cement or drywall, although they can. "Many home builders, though, offer warranty coverage for up to 10 years for major structural defects affecting the health or safety of their homes' occupants. If you have foundation cracking, collapse or other issues in your newly built home, notify your builder immediately" I immediately attempted to contact the builder, and have periodically tried but that lady sends me into a dang near PTSD episode everytime I call. There has to be something I can do to just speak to the builder to explain. This lady is talking about they took care of everything like paint and tiles in the kitchen...........I am not complaining about cosmetic stuff MY FOUNDATION IS CRACKED ACROSS MY WHOLE BASEMENT, THE WALL IS CRACKED FROM THE BASEMENT TO THE GROUND FLOOR, I HAVE REPLACED DOOR FRAMES BECAUSE OF THE POOR CONSTRUCTION......... And all I asked to do starting in 2015 was speak to the builder so that I can explain what is happening to keep it from getting worse.....and I have stopped at every turn by Leighann who seems to think that after one year I am just out of luck on a 250k home.
