Bronsyn Thomas Stewart
Stewart’s Landscaping, owned by Bronsyn Stewart, caused $3,339 worth of damage to our driveway. The paperwork showing the repair estimate is attached. When the damage occurred, the Stewart Landscaping crew leader brought it our attention. He apologized and said is occurred when he wasn’t present. He said he wouldn’t have let it happen if he was there. (We would have noticed on our own that same day once the workers moved the equipment which was blocking the damage.) The crew leader acknowledged that Mr. Stewart was responsible and would have to repair it. When we spoke to Mr. Stewart, he claimed he was not responsible. We told Mr. Stewart he is absolutely responsible for the damage his negligence caused and then finally, he apologized and told us he would fix it. I have this all documented.
The details of Stewart Landscaping’s negligence are as follows: Mr. Stewart sent a huge and full dump truck to our home in the pouring rain, then that full dump truck went on our unprotected driveway, then it drove off the driveway down the hill into our yard. Mr. Stewart did not have permission to drive a dump truck onto our yard. The dirt should have been dropped off and a small tractor should have moved the dirt as needed. The huge truck used our driveway for traction to get back uphill and the weight of it cracked the driveway. Mr. Stewart should have never had that truck k in our yard and he certainly should not have done that in the pouring rain. The rain caused the ground around the driveway to be soft and the weight of the huge truck cracked four slabs of our concrete driveway. It was easily avoidable if Mr. Stewart had exercised reasonable care.
Mr. Stewart is not a concrete company so he cannot be the one to fix our driveway. He needs to pay a proper concrete company to fix his damage and that is why I got an estimate from a concrete company who carries the property liability insurance.
We met Stewarts Landscaping because Anthony Sylvan was building our pool. Anthony Sylvan contracts out all of its work and Stewarts is one of the companies it uses. I complained to Anthony Sylvan Pools, but they didn’t care.
In addition to the property damage, Mr. Stewart has never finished the job at our home that he was paid to do and his work is not acceptable. The patio he built is uneven and he did a poor job tiling. Mr. Stewart over promises and under delivers and for the prices he charges, it should absolutely be the other way around.
Mr. Stewart will tell you he “forgot to measure an area” so you will have to pay more after he gives you an estimate and he will also say he measured and “you got what you paid for” but the job isn’t done correctly! For example, he was building a wall for us that was supposed to curve in and disappear into our yard. It does not do that. It just stops. When we asked him why, he said “well that’s what I measured.” What? We had an agreement on how a wall would be built and he gave us a price but then he changed the agreement and he just left his work. Mr. Stewart wanted us to pay more to get what we should have gotten in the first place. We are not happy with his retaining walls or his travertine and tile work.
Mr. Stewart will send you revised bill after revised bill. You won’t even know what the charges are for. Each time he sends you a new bill, he deletes the previous one so you can’t access it. Luckily I printed
them all. One day, I received an invoice from Mr. Stewart invoiced us for $10,000.00. When I questioned what this could possibly be for he said “oh that’s nothing forget it.” Was he just generating $10,000.00 bills? He didn’t confuse us with another customer. He was trying to get another $10,000 off of us. One day Mr. Stewart called me begging for money “so he could make payroll”. It was an odd conversation. Another day my husband and I received two back to back texts from Mr. Stewart at 6:36 am stating he was going to put a lien on our home. (See attached). This is very concerning for a few reasons. First, who send the first message then seconds later -sends the second one? Second, he could never put a lien on our home so to threaten such an outlandish thing is just crazy. Third, we are waiting for him to fix his work and reimburse us for the driveway!
We have emailed Mr. Stewart numerous times last year. He did come to our home once this year around Jan/Feb and stated he would remedy the issues he left at our house but he has not done that or given us a date when that will be done. Currently, he has stopped communicating with us.
We would like Mr. Stewart to finish the job we paid for, level our patio so there is no unevenness, and reimburse us for the damage to our property caused by his negligence. Since he will not respond to us, we have chosen to report him here as well as other websites. In addition to the driveway, I have received estimates to correct all of his work. I guess he would rather pay attorney bills then fix his work.
