    Install an egress window

    We have been trying to get our egress window completed since mid-July 2023. Get the same response as the other review, "I'll call you next week to get it finished." Now, Kyle won't even return a phone call.

    Cabinet and countertop install
    $1,500

    I wanted to share my VERY NEGATIVE ❌ experience with SC Decks (Stolzer Construction) located in the Lincoln/Hickman area so maybe other people will have one less problem while making updates to their home.

    I ordered cabinets/countertops from Menards on 84th and Hwy 2. They will give you a list of contractors in the area that includes what they are able to install. This is how I got the name for Kyle Stolzer/Stolzer Construction. See photo of everything checked off for what they install.

    I contacted Kyle about installing cabinets/countertops. Informed him of which ones I purchased and asked if he had experience and was able to install. He stated not a problem and they could squeeze me in during that week as they were waiting for supplies for other projects. He quoted me $2200, with a 10% discount for cash pay.

    Him and an assistant showed up in a truck and trailer with “SC Decks” on the side. After the first days work I made the mistake of offering to give them SOME of the money for the work they had done. He asked for $1500 for the day, which I paid in cash. Yes that was high, shouldn’t have paid until work was done, but this was all new to me. We talked about the need for custom cut countertops vs in stock. He assured me he could properly install the in stock countertops, not a problem to cut, etc.

    He picked up countertops for me and came back a few days later to finish the job. He arrived with 2 new assistants. After they left and I started to inspect their work, I noticed many flaws. Our friend with home renovation experience came from North Platte and we discovered many more major problems. (See photos)

    I contacted Kyle, listed out the issues we found, sent photos. Menards was very kind and offered to return the countertops (and money) that were no longer useable so I could order custom cut. I asked Kyle to refund me HALF ($750) of the cash I gave him and he stopped responding‼️ I feel like i am being more than fair. He has also turned off the reviews on his Facebook page and was unable to find a Google profile to leave a review there. We have also contacted BBB and are in process of contacting the manager at Menards to have him removed from their list.

    We are going on to the 3rd month of putting a deck in still not completed. Keep being told we will have it done this week.
