James Haughery has been around remodeling his entire life, watching his father run his own remodeling business. At a young age he found he loved the process of building and transforming things. As a teen, he began picking up jobs with carpenters, electricians and home builders. With hard work and motivation, he was able to put himself through college with these skills, and upon graduating he started his own residential remodeling company in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
During the years that he ran his remodeling company, James grew his company through a reputation of good communication, honesty and quality results. After transitioning to the D.C. market and working in the commercial construction industry for a season, James decided to return to his roots and thus, Stonewood Residential was born.

Stonewood did a great job repairing a ceiling in my home that had collapsed unexpectedly. They were easy to work with, timely, professional, and priced just right! Will be using again for other jobs and will refer to others!

We would highly recommend working with James at Stonewood Residential as a contractor. We were hoping to have our basement renovated before moving in and he had it all completed in a few short weeks and easily met the deadline. We were not in the area during the work and James had excellent communication with us throughout the entire project. He sent picture and video updates regularly. Once we arrived he did an in person walkthrough for us. We are very happy with the result, the quality of the work, and with James himself. We would use Stonewood residential again in a heartbeat!
