    Home builder

I hate leaving bad reviews on a business but people need to be warned about this builder. Scott's sub contractors were always pleasant but Scott himself was rude and snarky right out the gate. I was warned by other people in Bella Vista that he would be difficult and to have my husband deal with communication as he seems to be nastier to women. Yuck. Some people have had to start lawsuits to get anywhere with this guy. He has a terrible reputation in BV.

Almost two years later in what still should be a new home, I'm stuck having to properly repaint all of my kitchen and bath cabinets, recaulk and paint all the cracks in the shoddy walls and baseboard finishing work and I'm sure at some point we'll need the foundation repaired way before it should ever be needed.

We purchased a Stony Brook home in April 2022. Shortly after buying the home we noticed the floor buckling, cracks in foundation, a lot of chips, dents and wear already showing on every door of the cabinets, kitchen cabinets separating from walls and our entry wall is crooked which of course can't be fixed. It was like pulling teeth to get an answer from Scott on when and if this could be fixed. He was snarky and rude to my husband in every email. Claimed his foundation guy already came out to our house, unannounced and cleared the cracks as "normal". His painter came out to touch up our paint. He did an awful job. The touch ups on literally ALL of our cabinet doors are now cracking again. Pretty sure they weren't even primed or sealed.

The flooring contractor, Hector came out and had his guys try to repair the gaps and lifting in the floor with glue. It didn't work at all. Then after inspection by the flooring supplier Scott uses the supplier said the flooring needs to be completely replaced because they were installed wrong. Hector and his team came out and did a great job! I am actually happy with that new install.

In the crawl space our termite company found buried scrap wood, beer bottles and trash under the tarp and gravel. Yay! Termites are going to love us and our shoddy house. Thanks Stony Brook!
Most of us work so damn hard in life to own our own home. It's so frustrating to deal with shady builders with no pride or care in their craft! Stay far away from Stony Brook.

This was a new home build put up for sale
    $20,000

Scott Preston is the General Contractor who knows nothing about building hoses. He relies on his handy-man to guide him. Moved into a brand new house March 6th 2022. He installed laminate flooring in master bedroom, living room and kitchen. The boards are buckling and loose is many spots. He claims sun is making it happen but there are buckling in areas that get no sunshine. He refuses to fix the issue even though I'm in a 1 year warranty. Made a formal complaint with Arkansas contractor's board but they are dragging their feet. I will be seeking a lawyer this week. Good luck if you use him.
