    Impact window installation

Belligerent and disrespectful owner. I just experienced a unique situation and the owner just ignored us after saying he would see if he can help. My problem was that I had my Picture impact windows placed in May 2014. There were minor delays then but nothing to really complain about as it happens with these types of jobs, it was completed and past MIAMI DADE CODE INSPECTION. Fast forward to the month of Oct 2019- we had to do some stucco prep work finishing in the front of the house to prepare it for painting. What we found was astonishing. Instead of the space between the new window and opening structure being filled with concrete or reducing the space with a furring board; they were ALL filled with paper towel. We called daily because we had to put our present project on hold which meant the contractor doing the stucco finish had to stop and could not continue until the work was done correctly by the window company. We spoke with the owner only after insisting we with him directly. We explained our situation and he said he doesn't know if we are just making it up to get the work done for free. He asked me to send photos to verify what I was saying was true so we did. He said we had to wait a couple of weeks because we were not a priority even though we explained to him we had a project on hold and we wanted the job to be done by code because that's what we paid for them to do initially but wasn't. After waiting a couple of days for someone to come out, it was confirmed by one of their Installers that the work was done improperly and they will notify the owner that they can do it the next day. Well they never came the next day and we called again. I spoke with the owner again to ask him whats the delay and he told me that we are becoming a pain in the butt and none of his employees want to answer our calls in order not to hear our complaining. Again he stated he doesn't believe us and stated if we keep calling him that he can "Handle this the good way or the bad way". I immediately questioned him asking him if he was threatening me and he stated that I can think what I want and he hung up on me after I told him I told him he had no problem getting paid by us and all we were asking is that he finish the job by code like his company was paid to do. We tried calling again several times and they never picked up . We called MDC and told them about the situation, but although we passed the final inspection for the Bolt and anchor portion they were suppose to fill the space with concrete or the Furring board. They informed us my only recourse is to get a lawyer and sue them. We all know that costs money and aggravation because he still can ignore the judge. Needless to say I had to pay for the present contractor to do the work correctly and I still have 6 other picture windows that they installed the same way. So I am showing you pics of the crappy job they did installing impact windows that were purchased to protect my home and most importantly my family. In fact the company is so bad that they have a BBB rating of C+ and that's pretty consistent with their shabby work and unprofessional staff and business practice. Now I will also report them to the BBB and my goal is to get them an "F" so they can stop cheating clients. Like he said we can handle this the good way or the bad and my response to him is be careful what you wish for because you may get it and not like the result.....
