Permits

Buyer Beware--Poor quality, insincere customer service, and trickery with closing and final walk-through dates. I am two weeks away from closing and my third-party inspection returned less than stellar results. However, the inspection was almost two weeks ago and they won't fix the issues until we "discuss them" at the final walkthrough. I have pictures from the inspection that show there are already cracks in the foundation, an interior door is dented, the shoe mold (i.e., floor trim) is terribly discolored and split in some places, the bathroom grout is incomplete, and the roof shingles are already raised. What is there to discuss? The Sturbridge contract doesn't allow the buyer onsite to view the property once construction starts, and then they schedule your final walk-through on the same day as your closing despite the possibility of such major structural issues as found in my inspection. Worst of all, regarding the flooring job they did, in which they tried to stain brown wood trimming gray to match the gray/black vinyl plank I selected, they refuse to fix it because they state it's completed per building code, but they care nothing about the quality or appearance of their work. Don't be fooled by the smiles of the sales rep while they keep you out of the house, give you the run around about resolving issues, and then politely tell you there's nothing they can do to fix things. If I could do this all over, I would not recommend this builder because they do not value customers but want your money anyhow.
