By Carroll M.August 29, 2020Brick patio, pergola over patio
Suncraft installed our brick patio 2010, Sucraft installed Pergola over the patio 2014. Present day we are inquiring about a fireplace on our patio for those cool evenings, since this pandemic want allow travel as we usually do in the fall before school starting. Carroll M.

We are very pleased with Suncraft Corp. Our friends used this company a couple of years ago and recommended to us. They are professional, not pushy, pleasant to deal with. They did a good job in timely manner, as promised, gave us helpful advice. Absolutely will recommend to anyone.

Truly the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor, and I have dealt with a lot and was one myself for over a decade. I am convinced that these 5 star reviews are because of 1 or more of these things:
1. Blissfully ignorant or unaware of the integrity and quality of their project because they weren't present for a majority of the construction process and only saw finished products or they just don't know what to look for. They promise quality and aren't "cheap" by any means, so as a customer you should expect exceptional work with integrity. That was far from what we received.
2. A SEVERE inconsistency in quality to the customer depending on which crew gets sent to do your job. Based on my experience, I have absolutely no clue how this company is still in business. The work done was pathetic. The owner literally acknowledged this to my face, but yet I am having to settle and live with this shotty job that I paid full price for. There are numerous eye sores because of rushed cheap labor that did not have necessary tools. (The framing crew was literally using a circular saw for all of their cuts) I am still picking up the pieces months later. They destroyed my yard, damaged my door (will not open/close anymore and am having to replace) and left me having to spend $1k+ just in repairs from their negligence. Read the contract.....they aren't liable for any of it. No one ever cleaned up after themselves. Ever. The workers were very inconsiderate. Didn't even put any plastic up when installing the insulation so my whole home and furniture got dusted, insulation trash was left on our floor and we were forced to spend the whole day in the basement. I have been cleaning out everything you can think of from my yard and crawl space since they left. Garbage everywhere.
3. They didn't have much interaction with Jeff Borovetz, the owner. Probably the most arrogant, disrespectful, and condescending person in his position that I have ever come in contact with. He is never wrong, knows everything and will mock you and claim that you have no idea what you are talking about when indeed I was proven right on numerous occasions regarding my concerns....He just expects the customer to be quiet take what you get and be grateful. He is only worried about getting a check. You are nothing more to him. I am not the only one who feels this way, as his own workers and subcontractors expressed disdain. It also seems like a ton of reviews specifically compain about him. So be aware.
I could truly write a novel on the experience, because it was truly unbelievable what we went through. Literally every single step of the project something was done poorly and I had to make them come back and fix things and put band aids on stuff that should never have been walked away from and considered "done". I even had to do their job for them on multiple occasions. No one spoke any english at all which made things even more difficult. At one point they were literally using google translate to explain to the crew how to install insulation.....like they never had even done it before.....it was all very alarming.
They literally tore out one of my walls after the fact because the framing was so terrible that my wall was 1" off straight and there was a very visible bulge on the side of my home. Now the wall is bowed, another wall isn't straight and there are countless inconsistencies everywhere you look. The more I look the more I find....The entire process was absolutely exhausting and we are just glad that they are no longer on our property. No one from that company will ever be welcome back.
I am truly at a loss as to why anyone would hire this company based on my experience. I don't wish it on my worst enemy. If anything, I am quite envious of the people who had a 5 star experience.....That would have been great.....Hire at your own risk.
