By CpFebruary 7, 2022repair chimney and add the cap
I was nervous reading all of the above reviews on this site. I decided to use this company instead of continuing to call other companies. He was the only contractor that showed up and completed the job as promised on January 11, 2022. The job was to repair our chimney and add a chimney cap. After the work was completed, we were able to turn on our furnace.

This company/person is beyond awful. Brian Furrow is terrible - at everything he did. He was hired to do a basement walk up/egress. He showed up, extremely late, with a crew to dig out to prep for cutting into foundation. He used MY tarp to prevent damage to the yard (of which he specifically stated he was not responsible for). After several days he returned to cut the opening.
This took several days and even upon him informing me that it was ready for the person I had installing the door, I had to have him return as there were still large chunks of concrete on either side of the opening at the bottom.
He covered the large hole with plastic to prevent water collecting - but used ribbed roofing nails (that hold underlayment on a roof) in the handrails and top rails of my deck. After a very hot day, he pulled his 8k lb compact bobcat onto my asphalt driveway. When asked to move it to the side of the property, the first day, he refused. A second request resulted with same. The hot day was followed by three days of rain. This caused damage to my driveway (cracking and sinking) at which point on my third demand to remove it, he parked it on a trailer on the side of my property and then questioned if it was still there a day later because he was concerned about his piece of equipment. Seriously?!
He poured the wall footer and upon reviewing his work, he had not poured level with the house footer. Not only is pouring it level with the house footer requires design, he had written it in the contract HE wrote up that it would be level with the house footer. He was to return to lay block, and when questions about making the corrections, he informed me multiple times that I would not ‘see’ the error with what he planned to do. When I addressed that it needed to FUNCTION properly foremost, he scoffed at me. The top of the wall footer is above the door threshold. Smh. He demanded I allow him to finish the job he started. I informed him that he was welcome to, once he corrected the footer. He refused and left the property. Upon indicating to him that he breached his contract, and that I expected a refund of the substantial amount he had received, he/his company response was that I was the one breaching the contract by not allowing him to finish. So I will add to this review that his knowledge of building was NOT demonstrated in his work, and his level of intelligence (lack of) did. Anyone with a basic elementary science class would know that parking a dense/compact piece of equipment on a naturally soft surface would result in damage. He also place one of those roofing nails into the corner piece of my siding. This man/company should NOT be in business. When he informed me he would refund nothing (my damages far outweigh the work that WAS done) I informed him that the court will decide that if he insisted on being unreasonable. He shrugged his shoulders and did not care and left my property.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Search him (personally) under the Fredericksburg area county civil suit search. This was done too late for me, but not for you. It is all public record. I had to select a star to submit my review. If I could select a negative 5 - I certainly would. -

After a few months and several disappointing issues, I feel compelled to write about our experience. We hired Sunfire based on the internet reviews. Our 1st mistake. The 1st day they showed up to remove the asphalt from our old driveway, they arrived on a Saturday morning at 6:30 A.M. NO ONE was happy, especially our neighbors. I asked if they would please come closer to 8am. The laborers were here by 8-830, but the equipment didn't make it until after 930 so there was a lot of standing around. Due to some unfortunate weather, the driveway that we contracted and paid for 1/2 up front, was delayed numerous times. This occurred AFTER doing the demo, leaving us with a driveway area full of mud. In between this, we spent 3 days trying to track the owner or his wife down to get a better idea of when we could see some results since they had 1/2 of the balance. NO ONE ANSWERED the phone or answered emails. We thought we were taken. We were told a phone was lost, but prior to that, they were perfectly capable of communicating via email. Email communication ceased during those few days leading us to believe that a call to the Sheriff might be in order. We felt sure that we would have to get a lawyer. After leaving a stern message, the owner got in touch and firmed up the completion dates. In addition to having the concrete driveway, we opted to have the concrete stained. We followed directions exactly as they were told to us-waited 12 days to drive on it. Within a day, the "stain" peeled off in several places. Brian and his wife were quick to ask for final payment before the job was completed. We found it laughable that they had the gall to ask! We just wanted to be rid of them. Now that it's spring this company continues to haunt us as we have just turned on our sprinkler system and are finding that there is a leak in a few places underneath the driveway. Don't base your decision on reviews. Ask for references and make the calls. The pamphlet that was provided shows work from the early 2000's. Not sure if this is the original owner or not. Lesson learned. Check reviews from www.revdex.com Clearly, we are not alone.

A few comments on recently completed brick walkway and concrete driveway re-do's. 1) workers at Sunfire possess the needed skills and not just care about doing the job, but doing it well. 2) minor corrections had to be mentioned once, and only once before corrective action was taken. 3) Final price was as quoted in initial estimate provided. 4) overall supervision, added care put into customer satisfaction, and attention to detail was second to none. Bottom line = OUTSTANDING results in every respect.

Absolutely, highly recommend Sunfire for all of your brick and concrete needs. Very professional and highly skilled work force. Work force treated the project as though it was their own property....offered excellent suggestions on what was appropriate to complete the job with in the cost parameters. Over all pricing definitely in line an appropriate for all work completed.....

I would highly recommend Sunfire, we called for a quote on putting in a concrete driveway, they gave us a good ball park figure, after they came by for the actual estimate they were spot on the initial estimate. Work started as scheduled, the workers were very professional and polite. The supervisor came by to check the progress and ensure they stayed on schedule. When they were done they left the work area clean, hauled everything away. It’s been several months and so far i could not be more pleased. I recommend them, price was very good as well.

Brian and his crew just finished a significant job at my home, and to quote my wife “I have no complaints and they did a great job, it looks amazing”. If you want a contractor that answers every time you call and tells you what you want to hear, Brian may not be for you, bit if you want a very competitive price and quality work, and understand that concrete is weather dependent, I cannot recommend Brian and Sunfire enough!
