Builder will not respond to multiple attempts to contact him as there are several warranty repairs that need to still be completed in our home. I purchased my home from Sunset Homes and the home came with the standard 1-year builder's warranty. I have emailed and called the owner of Sunset Homes Paul Esposito many times throughout the year, leaving him voicemails/emails every time since he refuses to answer. Every time I contact the office, I am told the same excuse “We are looking into it and will call you back” which turns into NO follow up. Due to poor craftmanship throughout the home we compiled a four-page checklist for them to complete. After six months from our one year move in date, an employee came out for a 5-hour shift where he completed 2 items from the list and haven’t seen him since. The lack of communication and follow up with this company is terrible. Not to mention the huge mistakes they made when rushing to complete our home since we were told it would take a little over six months and it ended being over a year. With all their outrageously priced upgrades we paid additionally for a tile floor and Sunset Homes put in the wrong floor… wrong size, wrong color wrong everything. Paul Esposito (owner) when told about the wrong tile told us “I refuse to remove this flooring, and if you want to get out of the contract you can do so!” He knew we had already moved our child’s school to this side of town and was expected to move in within the next few days. He was rude, showed zero empathy to THEIR mistake. Do not make the same mistakes we made, reconsider before building with Sunset Homes. They will keep you in the dark after you pick out all your homes custom items and you will never hear anything but excuses and lies. I will NEVER recommend this builder to anyone looking to build a home.

I wish there was a way to give this company a 0 star rating.
Do your research before choosing Sunset. Very poor interaction throughout the whole process, including the owner, Paul Esposito.Wrong cabinets, freezing pipes, window replaced, water in the garage, cracked walls. Terrible quality, and not to mention the liens on the house that we have lived in for over 1 year and still haven't been able to convert our mortgage from the construction phase. This company owes almost $40,000 on our home alone.
It seems that this company can't figure out how to get their bills paid. Plenty of quality builders out there to choose from, Sunset IS NOT one of them.

Don't purchase a home from Sunset Homes if you expect your home to be complete and for the company to uphold their one year warranty. We purchased our home in 2016 and we are still waiting for items to be completed, corrected, and repaired. Oh, I should also mention that our basement walls were supposed to be 8'11", but they aren't even 8' and we have 2 egress windows because our first egress window was put in the wrong spot!

Building with Sunset Homes, was a long, complicated, frustrating process. We had issues with almost every step of the construction. There were many things on our house plan that we signed off on that were not done correctly initially. Thankfully, we were able to stop by our build site almost every day, so we were able to catch most of the mistakes before they were irreversible.
When you’re spending over $250,000 on a house, you want things done right & we were often made to feel like we were in the wrong to point our issues to the builder. They seem to value quantity over quality.
After 2 years of living in our house, we still have some things that need to be fixed & problems/issues that came up much more quickly than expected when you have a new home.
There are many trustworthy, quality builders out there. Do your research before signing with Sunset Homes.
