Pour large concrete slab for my kennel.
    $5,500

    Nightmare at Boulder Creek

This company is the biggest rip off I have ever had dealings with. Horrible, horrible work and ethics!! The concrete slab was very uneven making for lots of puddles. Concrete was pealing off in the first week. The concrete that they threw all over the side of the building was very hard to wash off with out removing paint. They did not instal wire mesh as per contract (But I paid for) Because they said they "forgot" to bring it and the slab would still be ok. The expansion joints were wide enough for my thumb, crooked and in some cases stopped in the middle and started again and inch or so over on the same line!! He "forgot" his checkbook to pay the concrete truck driver after they had delivered it, so I agreed to pay them and take it off my balance (I paid him half up front. And half on completion.) They used wood off my deck wood pile to make the forms, without asking and needed to borrow tools occasionally! They threw lunch trash in my bushes and tore up the grass with equipment. There was wood in the concrete where they kneeled on it to do the trowling.. Trowing was horrible and rough. I finally asked them to stop and leave after seeing how bad the expansion joints were being cut. I told them I was suing them to get my money back. I contacted two other companies to get bids and they were both appalled and laughed at the work. They thought I had attempted to do this large job myself. After getting bids to have all the concrete cut out, hauled off and replaced I contacted Tofua and asked him for my money back without me taking him to court. I have many pictures and video of this job being done and know I would win in court. He asked me to talk to his son Joe from Grow Construction, that Joe could make it right. After checking out Grow Construction and their reviews I spoke with Joe and decided I would give them a chance to make things right. STUPID ME!! Tofua came back on the scheduled day (late) to have his crew cut out the slabs. They not only took out the slabs but they removed all the screenings and gravel that had been placed underneath exposing the red clay beneath, making a mud hole and requiring more rock to be put down under the concrete to make grade. They also hit the side of our building with the concrete and bobcat causing damaging. This morning was the day Joe was supposed to come over finish up the forms, level out the screenings and gravel being delivered to remake the grade needed and pour the concrete. The dump truck full of gravel showed up at 10:45 AM and still no Tofua or Joe. Dump truck driver needs payment... Tofua thought I would be stupid enough to pay the driver yet again since he wasn't here as he promised. I spoke with the driver and he showed me the text messages he had exchanged with Joe. What was being said to me about the situation and what was being texted to the trucking company driver standing right next to me were two different things, so unfortunately all the lies were exposed. This company should NOT be in business!! I think being a woman homeowner Tofua the owner of this company thought he could get away with things. He was VERY disrespectful to me. My recommendation would be to not let anyone associated with this company step foot on your property. I have all the pictures, video, texts and contract paperwork to back up all my claims.
