We hired Rudy to replace an old irrigation and old sprinkler and drip system. He installed the new sprinkler and drip system. It took him 2 1/2 days to complete I'm very satisfied with his work and the experience we had with his company. They were Very professional and very reliable.
Rudy made sure the job was properly completed ,and that the job was finished in the time we discussed. I would 10000 % recommend this buisness to anyone you cant go wrong. the job only cost 3200. -

I Experienced what I consider criminal intent/activity. Mr Acosta removed all the backflow valves in my system, said & charged for redoing plastic underlayment and adding more gravel to prevent weeds, installed pvc system but left it inoperable. Sprinkler head tops were popping off & flooding areas, others were closed causing trees to almost die. Had to start manual watering with a hose until I brought in another service to at least save my plants & trees.
The trenches for the pipelines are close to the surface, not to depth required by code. It appears he operated with absolutely no knowledge of codes and wanton disregard for doing a good job. I did hire him but he's no pro at least where irrigation and codes/regulations is involved. Am filing reports with DA's office & encourage others to do so. -

DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD # TO Rudy Acosta! (He now calls his company Superior Scapes and Irrigation.) Two weeks after he took the agreed-upon $6500 toward $10,500 worth of work, he took another $4850 without our permission. (We had been talking about replacing our driveway, but he did not show us the estimate until FOUR DAYS AFTER taking this money.) We have been trying to get back value for our money in the 4 1/2 months since then, but he has still not completed the work promised.
He charged us $1200 for a "fully automated three-zone bubbler and sprinkler system," but he has only connected 6 of 15 bubblers necessary (and those kept popping off), and we have been handwatering those plants for weeks. He says now that the system will not work unless we give him an extra $113 for a water pressure regulator, which he claims was not covered in the contract! We have unusually low water pressure, which has been a problem with our sprinkler coverage, and expert sources state that most bubbler systems require water pressure regulators.
And the $1000 toolshed his workers built (on a $400 concrete foundation) warped and leaked with the first rain. The shed has not been caulked, and the door was not sealed before it was hung. It is an interior wooden door, with a door knob that could be accidentally locked from the inside but not from the outside.
Rudy Acosta has not come to our home since the end of May to inspect work completed by his workers, but he makes false claims about it. He asked just yesterday for "a punch list--a reasonable punch list" for completing this job. He has had a complete list for more than two weeks, but he apparently does not consider fulfilling his promises reasonable-- not after he has taken and spent all the money months ago.
The other major item that he cannot fix: seven weeks later than promised, he laid fescue sod on top of barely an inch of light brown dirt on top of hard-packed ground with live Bermuda growing, so the fescue is struggling. Rudy Acosta's estimate charged us $390 for topsoil.
His estimates may seem reasonable so that he can get your down payment, but he will substitute cheaper options, as when he persuaded us to switch from 3/8" gravel to crusher fine for large parts of the back yard, assuring us he knew from his experience that it would look great and keep down the grass. It does not. Two people no longer working for Rudy Acosta have told me that he has not paid them for all their work. There are many more problems and omissions, but these are the major concerns.
We chose Rudy Acosta on the basis of one good recommendation and because his descriptions of what he wanted to do for us made us believe he cared about the end product. He may in fact have good intentions, but he does not follow through, and he blames his workers and customers for any problems. Rudy may take better care of some longtime customers. I wish I had been more skeptical and found this page before I signed the contract. Rudy Acosta still wrote Lic. # 83883 on his Jan 2019 estimate, even though it was revoked years ago.
