Like most people looking to get a major project done to their house, I researched and sought bids. I started by going to the local big box stores and looking for contractors. I pulled in 4 bids from there. I also went on home advisor and started a bid there. I was contacted by 3 outfits from there and received bids from 2, one never came out for the bid. For the bids, 6 of them seemed either to have their own ideas of what I wanted or what I needed.
Swita Metal Roofing was on the only one that took the time to listen to me, and understand what I was looking for. Mike then took the time to explain the differences between standing seam and metal shingles. He carefully explained that some houses are fine with either standing seam or metal shingles and that some houses would look odd with one or the other. Our first meeting was spent more on educating me on what and how the metal roofs will look and act in the heat and cold. As Mike spent more time going over my needs and wants he got the bid. We decided on a multi-colored metal shingle. We had three roofs done; the approximate size of each roof was 20X20, 70X26, and 24X28.
I was then blown away with the quality, and cleanliness of the 4-person crew that showed up. I have had contractors do some other major work on my house, and have come apathetic to the mess my yard becomes during the construction process and after. On day one, I was floored that when they were done for the day I could not see any sign that they were on the property other than their sharp looking trailer, and that the roof had signs of work being done.
For the remainder of the project, 5 days, the crew exceeded every one of my standards when it comes to work being done on the house. They took the time to explain to me what they were doing and why. It is not often that you find a company with both great customer service and workers. Mike’s team not only sells a high-quality product at a reasonable price but also has an experienced team to handle the install. I would highly recommend Swita Metal Roofing to anyone looking for a metal roof.
