Switched Electric Turned a $17K Job Into a Lien, Lawsuit, and $8,700 Settlement
I hired Switched Electric for electrical work between 2023 and 2025, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely negative.
The original bid was for $17,000. After the first phase, he invoiced $14,000, which we paid in full. Later, the bid for finish work increased to $6,009 instead of the remaining $3,000 — we agreed, knowing some changes are normal. But soon after, we received an invoice for $7,800, and just five days later, a lien was filed on our home, backdated to the day work began.
His invoices had no payment terms and included inconsistent charges, unexplained changes to costs and hours, and items not delivered. The work itself was left unfinished, with visible wall damage that was never disclosed or addressed.
When I tried to discuss the discrepancies, instead of working toward resolution, Switched Electric filed a lien and then a lawsuit. On the advice of legal counsel, we ultimately settled for $8,700 — not because the claims were valid, but because continuing the fight would have cost even more.
Based on my experience, I do not recommend Switched Electric. If you choose to hire them, document everything and proceed with caution.
