Three years later, one bedroom still smells like chemicals. We've put down new carpet, painted the room, and had an air quality test done. Nothing has helped. NEVER BY A HOME FROM THIS BUILDER.

My wife and I found a new construction home in Andover Massachusetts in March of 2016 that was about 80% complete. The builder was a man name, Sean Szekely. The house looked very nice and on paper sounded great when completed. The builder said about 4 to 6 weeks from March. However, we ended up closing in August. We ended up sell our home and spending about 2 weeks in a hotel. The builder picked about 3 dates as completion deadlines, but could never meet them. The final walk through was very disappointing. Our punch list was so long, in the end, we agreed to a hold back of $2500. The hold back wasn't even close to what we are paying now to finish the job. As the days go by, we find new problems with the house.

Looking back, we would have just waited for the house to be completed before making an offer. I feel as though once we made an offer, he knew he had a buyer and began using cheaper and less experienced sub-contractors to finish the home. Overall, poor builder and untrustworthy. Simple things like baseboard being installed wrong and trim around windows being cut too short. Totally took the enjoyment out of buying and owning new construction. The realtor that he used was no better, she works for Coldwell Banker, she just outright lied to us about certain things.
