My family and I know Thomas Troung personally. My mom hired him to work on her own because she knows him, and thought that it was easier to do business with someone she TRUSTED. Big mistake on our part.
1st he had her took out a building permit in her name. 2nd she authorized him to talk to her insurance on her behalf. 3rd siding job that his company did under his supervision was in 2 different tones of yellow. 4th the windows that they installed are starting to protrude. 5th she paid him extra to do a good job on her home and to make it look nice. 6th the gutter that they installed had to be glued back together the day after they put it in.
I'm writing this to warn anyone that is thinking of hiring him to think twice. It's better to spend more money on getting things done right the 1st time. Especially if it's gonna be your home that you're going to be living in for a long time.
Any company that have you take out a permit under your name is a big RED FLAG. A licensed company that does the job should be taking out a permit in THEIR name.
Any owner that use their personal fb account to go a gove their company's fb account 5 stars is S-A-D. Go ahead and look up Nhi Troung is the same person as Thomas Troung and the owner of T&D General Contractor.
My husband had tried to contact Thomas Troung several times to have him fix his mistakes and he kept on ignoring our calls. At 1st he had agreed to meet my husband and another contractor to look at the house. A time and date was set up and he never showed. After trying to get a hold of him again for several months he told my husband that "the past is the past" he doesnt care once the work is done. Do you really want some one like that to fix your home? Husband told him that if he doesn't fix it then we will give him a bad review on the website. THOMAS TROUNG threatened to sue us if we leave a bad review.
Obviously he doesn't know the law very well. You can't sue people for stating opinion about your shady jobs. If you don't want a bad review don't do bad jobs.
As of now that we know of Thomas Troung T&D General Contractor license has expired since March. Look up Department of Labor Licensing Center. His license is expired.
