Brian promised to be fair, reliable, and honest (as what is stated on his craigslist ads). He was none of those three. He will smile at you and rob you blind.
Our agreement with Brian was that he would work on the job site at an hourly rate and would provide materials AT COST.
We paid in advance for those materials, and he basically upsold everything by a large percentage. THEY WERE ALL OLD MATERIALS ANYWAY. He said that he was upselling wholesale prices, but then he ALSO UPSOLD HOME DEPOT MATERIALS. Most receipts he provided had $ amounts OMITTED.
He charged for hourly rates but provided invoices with false hours, he came late every day, and was not honest with his hours.
Not to mention he didn’t finish the job, and promised to finish the job after he took a check for labor for an extremely overpaid week (while smiling and saying "see you tomorrow!") He agreed to start providing costs but basically just said that so he can get a check and disappear into the wind.
