    I am extremely disappointed about the manner in which John Choi has dealt with the construction project that we agreed on. John Choi and I agreed on a contract on December 26, 2016. For the price John charged me for the construction ($131,000), I expected the highest quality materials to be installed along with excellent quality workmanship. Instead, I found low-cost materials installed which have not withstood this rainy season. John Choi and I agreed the following: 2 complete repaired bathrooms, new kitchen cabinets, create a kitchen island, repair and create a skylight, paint my home inside and out, add a door in my guestroom, add concrete on the side of my home to create a sidewalk, add a master bedroom closet, repair the chimney stucco, repair the entire home crown molding, add wood floor to my entire home which includes the hallways, in one of the bathrooms we agreed to change the counter top and shower tile. We also agreed on adding an additional master room, which later was brought to my attention by the city of Thousand Oaks, John Choi was building illegally.The sky light that he installed is leaking water, and to add insult to the injury, he has not answered either my phone calls or emails regarding this matter since Wednesday, February 22, 2017. I have found out John Choi is using someone else’s construction license number.I do not agree with his poor workmanship or his late deliveries. The projects John assigned were supposed to be done one at a time. Instead, he started multiple projects and completed none. And now that it is tax season, my employees and I are working in an extremely dusty, potentially dangerous, and messy environment which also my clients must endure. We still don’t have an architectural plan, engineering calculation, or permit for the illegal room addition that he was building. After, I received a stop notice from the City of Thousand Oaks, John left and I have not heard from him since February 22, 107. Now, I need to hire a new contractor to complete the projects John left incomplete. I will no longer continue living under these circumstances and plan on resolving this issue expeditiously. I have paid John $91,000.00 cash to date including the payment for the illegal room addition he built which is about $78,000. The complete project/contract was a total of $131,000. John required me to pay a minimum of $10,000 every Saturday. He only accepted cash and did not allow me to write a check payable to his so called 'TK Company'. He also had me write 2 checks (first for $20,000, and second check for $5,000) under his wife's name, KUM S. CHOI. Other weeks he required me to pay him between $15,000-$17,000. There were some weeks John did not work but would still charge me the $10,000 cash.
