  garbage disposal under home warranty contract

  $300

  This is the most dishonest company ever!!!! I had them come out, through a home warranty service call, to replace a garbage disposal. They informed me I needed to pay for a non-covered cost for a new p-trap. I was not present but approved the work and asked that they send me pictures. They never did. Had a private plumber come up for a different job and asked him to check under the sink; they never changed the p-trap. I called to complain, and was told it was the pipes and bracket not the p-trap. Asked to talk to a supervisor; was told it was the bracket. So THREE versions of what they did, no pictures as requested, nothing but rude attitude typical of scammers. NOTHING under that sink, connected to that disposal is new, other than the disposal itself. The disposal comes with EVERYTHING needed to hook it up to the sink. I realize home warranty work probably does not pay them much, but they have agreed to work for them but it is unethical that they try to make up their loss by making false charges. They should have their license revoked. Wish there was a minus star...

  R & R garbage disposal

  On 7/25/23 T&N was sent to replace a garbage disposal for us under a home warranty contract with First American Home Warranty. T&N insisted on a $50 modification fee in addition to the FAHW call fee ($85). When I challenged the fee, FAHW attempted to advocate for me, but T&N dispatchers insisted that the mod fee was required to install the disposal. As I observed the installation, no modification was made to p-trap, hoses or drains as T&N claimed would be necessary. All parts needed for the install were supplied in the manufacturer's box. No additional steps were necessary and no modifications were needed to install the new unit. This is obviously an unscrupulous way to extract money from FAHW customers.
  My experience with field team has been fine (3 service experiences with T&N). However, I have found their office/dispatch teams to be unprofessional, even rude.
  Beware of hidden up-charges when using T&N. I won't use them again.

  Repair Water Heater and Faucets

  T & N Plumbing & Electrical is absolutely awful to work with. They actually lied and told my home warranty company Sears/Cinch that they completed all repairs. They damaged my wall and door frame around my hot water heater and stripped a valve on a faucet. Their "technician" was not a plumber and he said he would make sure the faucet is ordered and the replacement was approved as he caused the additional damage. They told me they would be back out to make these repairs and then turned around and closed the claim with Sears Home Warranty. They got their money and fixed nothing!!!

  CHECK PIPE IN ATTIC TO SEE IF IT WAS LEAKING

  Hello Everyone, my experience with T & N Plumbing was GREAT! The Engineer, Alan Gold came out to investigate. We recently had insulation added to our Attic, and the person installing the insulation stated there was some moisture on Pipes in Attic, and suggested we should call a Plumber. Alan came out to the premises from First American Home Warranty and he did a great job. He stated after checking our Dryer Vent to the Attic, the Condensation was coming from that point. Alan guaranteed 100% that this was the problem. There was no leak, only a little moisture when drying our clothes in Clothes dryer. He was gracious enough to take pics so the customer could see exactly what was going on. Those who've had a bad experience with T & L Plumbing Engineer, call Alan Gold.

  Amongst all the bad reviews, had a great experience. Shawn the plumber came to our home to fix a leaky pipe under our house in a difficult area. He was kind friendly and efficient. He fixed the problem properly not just a quick fix in a timely matter. We highly recommend Shawn and and would defiantly request him again....

  Scam Artist of the highest order, I'm a member of Old Republic Home Warranty Protection they assigned these scam artist to fix several items in my home that are covered under warranty. On the day of the appointment they didn't show up to my home and when I called them out on it, (Liz) then lied to me about speaking to the security guard at the gate whom then verified to me that they were a no show and last but not least they now want $75 for the trade call fee. Scam artist of the highest order, a bunch of no shows scam artist that think they can get away with fraudulent fees, well jokes on them! Old Republic has a copy of the invoice and has informed me that they will take care of this issue and that I don't owe them a dime! T & N Plumbing and Electrical want your hard earned money without doing any work let alone even arriving at your house, they are a scam, buyer beware, don't believe their lies.

  fix a leak in the hallway

  I have First American Warranty and I called them because we had a leak under the master bathroom sink. We tightened the bolt to the faucet and it stopped the spewing however water started coming up in our hallway, right against the bathroom wall. T and N Plumbing and Electrical came out to fix the problem. The older gentleman said that it's not leaking under your sink anymore. I agreed but I showed him the water coming up through the laminant in the hallway. He looked at me and said, "You need to call your home owners insurance." I told him I contacted my warranty and they contacted his company. He said he was going to contact the warranty company to get an authorization to pull up the laminant. Instead they closed the case as complete. The mans reconmendation was to contact a carpenter. I would not recommend this comapany ever!

  Toilet repair

  An absolute scam of a company. They contract with First American Home Warranty to scam people out of money.
  I have had a leaking toilet for nearly a month now as they continually find excuses to not do any work.
  The first tech came out and saw that the tank was cracked and wanted to replace the whole toilet. The company sent out a second tech under the guise of doing the replacement, but he only came to take photos to supposedly send to the warranty company.
  A week later they said they will only replace the bolts on the tank and not the tank itself. When asked how that would fix a cracked tank they said they dont know or care. This is absolutely fraudulent and I plan to take them both to court for breach of contract.

  whole house fan

  I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before agreeing with Old Republic to use this company. They are an in-network vendor and the hope was that getting the work done would be 'easy'.
  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
  They were quick to respond and come to assess our whole house fan issue, but that's the only thing they did well. Old Republic had already sent our Jet Electric, who stated the unit had a bad motor and that trying to repair it wouldn't be cost smart. Old Republic approved Jet to replace it with the same older style of whole house fan we had, but we were interested in the idea of paying out-of-pocket to upgrade the fan to a Quiet Cool whole house fan if it could be done at a reasonable cost. Jet Electric didn't have a tech that could do that, so they sent T & N. I explained this to T & N on the phone, I explained this to the tech when he came, I explained this to the second tech that came the next day, I explained this in the five phone calls after their visits asking for the two quotes.
  T & N came twice to try to make adjustments to make the fan less noisy. They state that it either needs to be rebuilt or replaced but REFUSE to submit the replacement scope to Old Republic. They only want to try to take the motor apart to see if they can repair it. Old Republic DENIED them, and so T & N CLOSED the job! The fam STILL has a bad motor and makes noise! I'm now waiting to hear back from Old Republic.
  T & N would NOT understand that 'making noise' isn't the issue...it's a symptom of a malfunctioning motor issue. To them, less noise but working was good enough. I can't say enough about T & N's low standards of quality work and their low-quality customer service.
  Both of the office ladies are completely rude and argumentive.
  Each of those phone calls I made to them they stated that the 'supervisor makes the quotes and he will call you'...he never did once. Apparently, he is also their main tech. It would have been nice to have been able to talk to him directly to explain the situation prior to their involvement, but he seems to have no interest in talking with customers.
  Do you self a HUGE favor and AVOID T & N.

  clear main sewer line

  I don't even want to give these guys one star. My home warranty company sent these guys out because my main sewer line was backed up. I told them ahead of time they needed a very long snake to unclog the line. The guy showed up with a 100 ft snake and tried to clear the line with that which he was not able to. He said he had to go back and get the longer line but never did, instead he called the home warranty and said that he brought out a 125ft snake which is the max. Now they won't cover the problem. They are lazy and lie to the home warranty so they don't have to do the work and make an easy buck

  Home warranty called them out

  Do not use this plumbing company. My home warranty used these guys to come look at my drain for the washing machine, the first guy that came out , looked at the crawl space and said, he has to have someone else from the company out because he would not fit down the crawl space. Second guys came out, one spoke only Spanish and the other guy spoke English, did not get into the crawl space either. One of the guys took his camera poked it down the crawl space hole and took a picture. They sent a report to my home warranty and told them I cut my pipes! How can you determine that when they didn't even get into the crawl space and go to were the pipe is leaking were the washer drains. I even offered to run water down the pipe so they could see were it was leaking, they refused. These guys do not know what they are doing at all. If you didn't want to do the job. You should of just put that in your report. Not make up some lies that does not even make sense. I can't even fit in that crawl space, why on earth would I cut my pipes! This company is disgusting!

  Replace water heater

  Our warranty company sent this contractor out to get our water heater fixed. We were charged $140 for a permit to replace the water heater! The permit was NEVER applied for (pulled) from the City. Buyer Beware! Not sure how many more people have been cheated upon.

  This company quickly proved to be
  1. *Unprofessional
  2. *Irresponsible
  3. *Incompetent
  4. *Absent of customer service focus
  5. *Poorly run business!
  Terrible and unprofessional! This company was assigned to address an electrical problem at my home. The technician was clearly unfamiliar with electrical systems and actually worsened our electrical problem. His incompetents was evident and he left stating that he had other appointments to get to and the company would re-schedule us for another time. He left without addressing our electrical problem.
  That time (customer service) never realized. I called the company multiple times to get that scheduled but the best, I got from "Paul" a supervisor, and this company was... "someone will call you"
  I never received that call from this company!
  I don't normally submit reviews... but no one deserves to be treated poorly and ignored by this company and if review this helps you choose another company to help you out, then I have at least prevented another negative experience generated by this company

  Water heater repair

  This has got to be one of the worst business that I have EVER experienced. They checked out my hot water heater and informed me that I would need a new one due to age and unit clogged and not working. Heater was 15 years old. My claim was declined due to lack of maintenance, mind you this unit lasted for 15 years!, obviously some maintenance was done. They sent a report to the warranty company stating issue was due to lack of maintenance. Go figure! I will NEVER use them again.

  Sent out by Sears Home Warranty

  If I could give a zero I would. These people are the worst plumbers I have ever seen. They lie to customer, they lie to Sears Home Warranty, they have terrible customer services, and Alfred is the worst of the bunch. Not even two steps in the door, "I need a $100.00." Goes down and supposedly fixes my problem. Immediately I start smelling raw sewage and I can't use my refrigerator water. He calls Sears and says it is an appliance issue so Sears says they won't fix it because we don't have that coverage. Over a month it continues getting worse and worse and the health of my family starts feeling it. We call Sears again and they send a second company out to verify what T&N said. The new company says that T&N lied and it had nothing to do with the appliance. Not only that, the work they did was only done half-ass and the pipes are now sagging because they didn't put up the support straps. We had them take pictures and we sent them to Sears. Sears confirmed that T&N lied to us and lied to them, as they told Sears a third story. Of course, because the ground is wet with sewage, now they won't come out until is dry. When will that be? I don't know, call us when it's dry. How will we know when it is dry since we can't get down there? I don't know, let us know when it's dry. Call Sears again and they force T&N to come out. What does he do? Says he put straps up on his repair but there is still a leak in the sewage line. So, it had nothing to do with the appliance? That is bad too. I asked why didn't you fix that and the other pipe if that is what was wrong when you came out here? That isn't why were called. If you use this company on your own accord you deserve to get ripped off. If a warranty company sends them out, refuse and demand a different company. These are the liars and charlatans. They give honest plumbers and small businesses a bad name. A third company is now out to fix what these people should have fixed.

  We too were referred to T&N for plumbing/septic backup problems by our home warranty. After reading the reviews, we cancelled the appointment but were told by the home warranty company they could not schedule another plumber. So, we reluctantly rescheduled. A young man came out and I apprised him of our problem (aged septic system. He made a half-hearted effort to snake the line from the outside cleanout to no avail and we agreed the problem stemmed from old leach lines. He mentioned he could leave the cap off to prevent further backup. That did not sound like a good idea and I said to put it back on. I later found out he had left it off when sewage began spilling over my yard. I called them back and the soonest they could get anyone out was in three days. I emphasized I had sewage spilling out and that I needed someone out ASAP, all they would say is they had no technicians available. The owner or manager were not available but she stated she would have someone call me back. No one did for two days so I called again, was told the soonest anyone could come out was in three days so I set an appointment. I asked the scheduler if she knew how ABYSMAL their ratings were and she retorted"Sir, if you're going to yell and curse ( DID NOT curse at her) at me I'll just take you off the schedule". I replied "You guys are horrible" and hung up. I got to wondering if she actually did put me on the schedule so I called back, talked to another person, (she had NOT put me on the schedule as requested), so I confirmed the appointment for that Thursday morning. Thursday morning came and went. When I called to see if anyone was coming someone told me they had gotten a call that my home warranty had been cancelled. I called the warranty company who told me that was not the case. The scheduler had childishly taken me off the schedule because she did not like me demanding that someone fix THEIR mistake and stop the sewage from spilling out over my yard. T&N flat LIED and failed to live up to their responsibility. I have NEVER had to deal with such an unprofessional company. If you need plumbing service, call ANYONE else. If your home warranty refers you to them, demand another company. Reading the other reviews, I don't know how this company is still in business

  They came to my house to inspect the water leaking tank, and said it took at least three people to replace the water heater. What a joke! I could do it myself.
  They left after spending some time taking the pictures, and told me to contact my home warranty service to get approval for a new tank. This should not be my job, but I did it anyway.
  Next couple days, I called back. They told me they didn't get the right tank.
  For more than a week, nothing had been done and still waiting.
  Better do it myself.

  This company is the worst you can have. Had a leak on our outlet pipe and unfortunately our insurance sent this tandem. All they did was patch up work and made us suffer for not using the faucet up to 48 hrs., but then the result was the same. Finally, there's no other option but to replace the pipe as i told them. And their guy said 5hrs of repair is needed, they sked it 2 weeks later and said that's the only available one, but then cancelled it w/o informing us. A new plumber was sent by the insurance and replaced the pipe in less than 2 hrs. They just want the easy job.

  our hot water heater stopped working so we called our insurance, and they sent T & N out for repair. The first day he lit the pilot light, and told me he tightened a wire and fixed the problem, but if for some reason it goes out again call and he will come change the switch. Well it went out 1 hour later. The next day he shows up and does about 30 minutes of tinkering and tells my husband " my boss doesn't like to replace parts, he just wants us to order a new unit" . Our insurance co. Called and said we needed a new unit and it was 1500.00 our cost would be 255.00. ( surprise surprise) We told them that the technician never changed out the part that was broken, and we'd like them to replace that before ordering a new unit. Today he shows up 2 hours late! Fixed the part that my husband had suggested the 1st visit, and imagine this...we have hot water!!! T&N will definitely try and screw you, so be careful

  I wound up with these thieves through my Home Warranty Company also. They installed a new water heater in my garage, and I was required to give them $450.00 for supposed non covered items. I found out after the guy left that the Home Warranty Company paid them for the water heater, labor to install, and parts. I asked both parties involved to present me with an itemized statement of charges, and I'm still waiting. Be aware of T & N Plumbing and Electrical. They are a bunch of crooks. The service guy did a crap job of installing the water heat to. Since this all happened, I have demanded a refund of the $450.00 that I was over charged, and neither T & N, or the Home Warranty Company will make good on it, so I will now pursue the matter with the California State Consumer Affairs Office, and I also encourage you all to do the same. Let's put these losers out of business.

  Be careful of these con artists! Our home warranty company sent them out. Luckily my husband is a contractor himself so we knew what they should do. They overcharged and didn't do what they were supposed to! Came out a second time when we called to complain they were cheating us. Still charged us and extra couple hundred dollars for work that was not completed!! Buyer beware! Especially if you don't know exactly what they should be doing or what they're charging you for!!

  Fix a ceiling fan

  Horrible! Unprofessional and unethical. My home warranty company sent out T&N Plumbing and Electrical to fix a ceiling fan. Their electrician came out on a Friday, installed a new fan, however, it didn't work. The electrician told me he would be back out on Monday or Tuesday to fix it. I waited until Tuesday afternoon and called him. He told me that he was "let go" and I needed to call the office. I then called the office and they confirmed that the electrician was "let go". They would send someone out the next day between 8:30 and 12:00 p.m. I received a call around 11:00 stating the the new electrician had "broken down on the side of the road, had no cell phone service and had to walk to a phone". But, they would call me in the afternoon to let me know what time he would be here. Odd. Never heard from T&N again!

  In the meantime, when the first electrician was here, he used my step stool to reach the fan (I didn't appreciate him standing on my bed). He broke the step stool and told me to send him the bill. My husband went out and bought a new stool for $43. When I called T&N and asked if they would reimburse me...guess what? No, they told me that they contacted the electrician that was "let go" fired, and he claims he didn't use our stool. I really didn't expect them to reimburse me, but wanted to see if they would stand by their company and do the right thing. Do you really think I would submit a false claim for a mere $43?

  I would not recommend this company to anyone, they lie and don't stand buy their work (or lack there of).

  My warranty company advised me to call them for a tub stoppage. After leaving several messages for two days , I hired a contractor to come out and clear it within minutes.

  They have communication with customers and the warranty co. Doesn't seem to care. Good luck to whom might use them.

  To all who may consider using T&N Plumbing & Electrical Inc. ----> As a rule I almost never leave comments or feedback even when a service provided me is below average, I give any business the benefit of the doubt being busy and all; but in this case I feel compelled to do so to WARN EVERYONE about T&N Plumbing & Electrical Inc., 1226 11th St. Suite B, Modesto, CA 95354.
  Our home warranty referred them to us to get a simple plumbing problem fixed. A tub faucet and two stoppers in the sink replaced....easy huh? That's what I thought! First, they didn't show up for the original appointment or even have the courtesy to call and tell me they cancelled the appointment. I was waiting all day Sunday with family and kids until 8:00 pm for the plumber. An entire Sunday gone. (This should have told me something about the integrity of the company had I been thinking.) Next, they finally showed up on another day, dismantled our faucet and sinks and took off with all the parts to our sinks! Never came back, called, or anything! Days passed..... My wife and myself called the individual answering the phones again (one of the rudest, meanest, most self-centered people I've ever encountered - give this one a try for immediate convincing) explaining to him that our sinks were leaking and our parts remained missing. All he provided was excuses about how he had no way of contacting any of his plumbers, could not bring our parts by, workers were sick, was not sure of anything time-wise, and on and on with the excuses! This in itself says enough to anybody in relation to customer service. In any event, another two days with our sinks taken apart, still leaking and no communication from him. Again, he said he would call back (no call) then told us he would drop them off the next day even if he had to do it himself (another no show). Having lost confidence and no other options I finally called and told these incompetent people they were fired and passed the word to my Warranty Co.
  Unfortunately for me, my Warranty Co. could not send anyone else to fix my plumbing problem until I obtained all the original sink parts that these people had taken! I notified my Warranty Co. of their ongoing incompetent behavior and my missing parts, and once again called the guy from T&N to get my parts back (just drop them off at my front door was all I was asking at this point) and he hung up on me!
  It took another call with the promise of bringing the Modesto Police Department with me to obtain my now misappropriated parts before this guy/company finally returned my property to me late the next day. No apology or nothing, but after what I experienced I didn't expect one. I guess the promise of contacting the Police did it, thank God! The next contractor my Warranty Co. sent us to fix the problem T&N started was a dream! In and out in 1/2 hour and everything was perfect, including the customer service. Anyway, if any of you are "brave enough as well as patient enough" to have anything to do with T&N Plumbing and Electrical - BEWARE AND GOOD LUCK, YOU WILL NEED IT! Definitely one of the worst experiences of my life and I am so thankful it is over with! Pass the word.......Have a great day,
