WATCH OUT!!! Joe was recommend to me by Laura the owner of SunnyRoad interior Designs in Houston. He came here and said he could do anything and had rave reviews from Laura. We hired him to paint our bathroom and custom build and install our front doors, as well as our backyard fence. He acted like the “Christian” good guy .. I bit and we discussed pricing. The doors were being custom made by a “guy” he knew that does excellent work. They ?? Came out and measured and left. Joe then told me the quote for the doors was 8,000. He needed half the money upfront and the rest at time of delivery. I met him at SunnyRoad interior Designs on Fondren, in Houston and when I wanted to write the check he asked for cash up front, I told him not a chance. He said Laura had just paid him as well he needed money to pay one of his guys and he didn’t have time go to the bank, so I ran to the bank scrapped up 1k and then wrote him a check for 3000. (Why? Stupidity on my part). He also needed a check for the fence to be done and he was sending his guys out and that cost was 3500.
. Joe then said it would take about 3 weeks. He then brought one of his guys out so they could do the painting in my half bath. He said he needed 300 up front and we would
Discuss the rest once they finished. He ate lunch us and never painted while the other guy put one coat on. They left and after numerous excuses; He was working for Laura’s Daughter in Austin, he was in Florida chaperoning his kids at Disney, he and his wife were having marital issues because of the job in Austin. This was dragged out for almost 4 months. Finally he called us and with other witnesses listening he said Laura and her daughter owed him money from the job in Austin. They fired him, stole his workers and stole his time and money and never paid him. He also claimed they had his trailer, all his tools and wouldn’t let him get them and he needed a court order to do so.. he said he would pay us back the money on Saturday and we never heard from him! BASICALLY this guy is a thief and a fraud!! Do NOT hire this guy !! SCAM

DO NOT EVER HIRE JOE TAFOLLA! He is the truest definition of a SCAM ARTIST. My experience with him was nothing but (surprisingly) pleasant. I work for a self-owned roofing supply company; we are a vendor for everything roofing. He came into the store with a friendly demeanor, met the owner, had positive conversation about his company, and how much work he does, and was completely polite. He wanted shingles and nails for a roof he was doing. His grand total was: $3,637.17. He paid with a hand written personal “company” check. So naturally, I accepted it, made copies, invoiced, etc. He took his materials and left. Completely normal procedure right?!
A few days later we get a kick back from the bank. SURPRISE, the check was hot. We called the number he gave us for days. That turned into weeks. He never answered the phone or replied to text messages from our credit manager. This was not going to fly at all! So we made a call to the police to get instructions on how to go about this. Their advice was to prosecute and report him to the DA’s office.
We sent out a warning letter, demanding payment within 10 days as per the police officer. Of course, the address he provided was false and the letter was returned. Still attempting to contact him, he decided to answer a few days after the letter was mailed. (not coincidental at all) He acted completely oblivious to the issue. And claimed that he did not have the money at the moment. My credit manager demanded that she get a correct address to come and collect. He said he would have the money 2 days later. She explained that she still needed an address. Thus resulting in him hanging up on her.
As of now, I have made attempts to do as much investigative work as I possibly can to get a hold of him. Facebook, google, the BBB etc. I have come across about 4 different addresses and multiple phone numbers. I have called all of them and most are unavailable.
I have read the horrific reviews on this SCAM ARTIST. So it’s now very clear to me that this is what he does for a living. Ripping off hard working people, who trust that he will do what he says. It’s very sad to know that people like him are around destroying homes and businesses. Granted, this not going to destroy us, it is completely WRONG and thus, some hard working homeowner has stolen materials on their roof. I would absolutely NEVER recommend him to anyone EVER!
JOE TAFOLLA IS NO BUSINESS MAN, AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET A PERMIT IN THE STATE OF TEXAS TO DO ANY KIND OF CONSTRUCTION, RESTORATION, REMODELING, ROOFING & SIDING OR WHATEVER ELSE HE CLAIMS THAT HE DOES. What a shame!
