We hired TD Landscaping for a stamped and stained concrete patio and walkways along the side of the house in the backyard. He did an excellent job for a reasonable price, and the finished product was exactly what we asked for. We're very satisfied with his work and highly recommend him.

Not a good idea having him to do the job in my backyard, these guy is just a rip off, he did my retaining wall and concrete stumped in my backyard, after 6mos part of the retaining wall and stump cracked and he said he can't repair it because I don't talk to him nicely and it's over 6mos already. "I told him I paid you $23,000 and you used my backyard as a model to show to your customers".. he didn't even bother informing me that their will be people coming to my backyard.. and when I locked the gate he was mad and upset because he cannot get into my backyard and he has people with him to show his work.. I told him that's not acceptable.. I had more projects in my front yard and he was upset that I didn't hired him. I told him that he just charge to much. And even criticized the job of the other guy.. make sure that you shop around first before you let him walk to your door.. as he give you a high estimate.. and of course he Lost his license because of a lot of complaints..

By a user in OrangevaleJune 19, 2017Concrete laying, landscaping
When we moved in to a new home and ultimately decided to get our backyard done after a year, we looked for references from other owners in the community. We received a few quotes from 5 contractors that had done landscape/concrete work in our neighborhood, including TD Landscaping. Truyen (aka Denny) was the most value-priced for us, as his quote was significantly lower when compared to others for the same type of work that included the following - laying colored/stamped concrete with a small retaining wall and some drought-friendly landscape work. I came across the other review comments from this site only after he began the work and was a bit skeptical about the outcome. But it all turned out well and he delivered as promised. There were some charges on extra/unplanned work but these were due to a minor change in the specs that I made from the initial design. In my case, the additional charges were about $500 and that wasn’t significant in comparison to the total value of the contract. Also, there wasn’t much confusion about the requirements as I had plotted the measurements and the specs and handed a printout to Denny. Plus, on his iPad, he showed me a few pictures from prior completed projects of the type of rocks and bricks he was planning to use for us . The completed work was as per the initial sketch and the sample pictures. Overall, I’m satisfied with the quality of work from him.

Do Not use this landscaper. He charged 3200 for a concrete walkway which cracked in four pkaces within 36 hours of install. He said he would fix it, then changed his mind and said he would only fix it if we paid him 8K to finish the rest of our yard, which is essentially blackmail. My husband explained that that isn't how honest businesses operate, but his best offer was to refund us 500$. Now we are stuck with expensive, unattractive concrete which we will probably pay someone else to rip out and redo. Considering taking him to small claims court. I repeat, do not, under any circumstances, hire him.

Just as what other mentions. Cut corners and not a trustworthy landscaper. Told me he would do a better job than other landscapers and states he knows exactly what I want. Quoted 11k for laying concrete for small backyard and retaining wall. The rock and stones for retaining wall is different from originally planned and trying to charge me more. Please do not trust this guy if he comes to your door.

Cut corners in the concrete by arguing about installing rebar and wire mesh. Told me to trust him since he states that he is a profession. Once finished I found that he forgot or purposely didn't mention that my flower bed needs a drainage which is now blocked by a pour concrete walkway. There used to be a drain there but he moved it to the wrong side of the concrete. I had to pay him an extra $300 to add the drainage. I will never do business with this contractor again (Truyen). He promises that he does highest quality work and he is a true professional, but he is far from it. Avoid.

By AnonymousSeptember 23, 2014Landscape trimming/fertilizing$7501 dayVery disappointed
We were excited about the prospect of all of the services TD Construction and Landscaping offered. However, several things went seriously wrong with this project. When we asked for a quote for work for which we were already quoted $600, he quoted me $1,800! When I said that was way more than I was planning on paying, he lowered his price all the way down to $750 when I told him of the other quote. He made it sound like he would do so much more for us than the other landscaper so we hired him. Then, he required I pre-pay him half of that for supplies (lawn fertilizer?). He told us he would arrive Thursday at 8 am, but instead he arrived at 7:30 am Wednesday (the only day that week I could sleep in) without calling in advance and woke me up. He told me his $750 bid was for a whole days work, but he brought two other people that day and the three of them worked for 1 1/2 hours total and only completed half of the work and then he wanted to leave and get paid. When we pointed out all of the work he didn't complete, he argued with us and insisted we pay him in full. Stupid me I did that and the next day when we asked him to come back to complete the work (his flyer says satisfaction guaranteed), he refused and instead chose to give us a small amount of our money back. Not good!!!!

If I have less than 1 star to choose , I will. Please avoid this contractor, Denny, at all cost. Very unprofessional and NOT trustworthy. He seems very nice at first place before you sign contract with him. He will tell you repeatedly he knows what you want. After you sign contract, you have to fight with him for the work he supposed to do as a landscaper. He does not listen what you want instead he will do the way he wants which is the cheapest way for him to save his money. He made my concrete without checking the drainage underneath. After the drainage blocked, he removed my new lawn to dig the drainage pipe to connect with the other side of drainage line.
PLEASE! PLEASE! AVOID HIM. I DO NOT WANT ANYONE HAVING SAME HEADACHE LIKE ME.
