By Diane C.December 9, 2022Winter check on furnace and humidifier$75Read more
In October, I had a tech from Ted Dumont come out to do a winter check-up on my heating system and humidifier. When I made the appointment, I also said that I'd like the tech to look at my whole-house fan and repair it, if possible. When the day of my appointment arrived, the tech showed up and looked my furnace over. He was a nice guy, but I didn't feel confident that he was all that knowledgeable. He had no notes on his work order about my request to look at the whole-house fan. Without even looking at it, he told me I should probably hire an electrician. I was disappointed, but I didn't want him working on something he didn't feel comfortable doing. Now, six weeks later, the red "service needed" light is blinking on the humidifier. Actually, it's been on for a couple weeks now. I called Ted Dumont three times last week and left a message each time that I'd like to schedule a service call. Never heard a word back. Yesterday I called again and was told by an office staff person that she didn't schedule appointments; I would hear from a tech when they could work me into their schedule. That sounded odd to me. Later in the afternoon, I got two phone calls within 10 minutes from a person I didn't know, and since I was currently on a call, I didn't switch over to pick either call up. Minutes later, a tech. shows up and says that he's here to look at my humidifier. Surprised that he would drop by without making an appointment, I questioned why he would do that. His reply was that he had called me twice. I checked my voicemail and realized that he was the person who had JUST called. His name, but not TED DUMONT HVAC, was on my caller ID. And in his voicemail, he identified himself and said he was from Paramount HVAC! Talk about strange and unprofessional. I did not have this tech look at my humidifier. I have NO FAITH in Ted Dumont HVAC and will never have them back. I called Western Heating & AC, they answered on the second ring and scheduled an appointment for me next week. I then got a text confirming my appointment. Ted Dumont should take a lesson on customer service from Western.

Poor quality and they charge for labor not completed. They worked four two hours at my house and charge for 4.5 hours of labor. Fraud.

I had a technician attempt to fix my furnace 5 months ago. He cut a wire to a safety switch insisting this was the problem. It didn't fix the furnace and he left. 4 months later I receive a bill. I refuse to pay a bill for a job that was never completed. Now I'm taking them to court because they sent me to collections. I can't wait for my day in court

We hired them to fix our HVAC last week. After three attempts, it is still not working. They left it torn apart. They told us it would be overtime to come out and fix it. Very miserable in 100-degree weather.
