SCAMMER - DO NOT USE DARYL for any heating and cooling needs. He scammed me in a recent service call as part of Home Warrenty plan.
From the initial call to Daryl, he was unprofessional. Using vulgar language and admitting to being intoxicated. Upon his arrival Daryl opened the door without knocking. He didn’t take off his shoes and proceeded to track mud into the house. Furthermore, in 2010, Daryl faced drug paraphernalia possession charges.
His Scam is as follows: The Home Warranty policy includes verbiage that if the "unit is not properly maintained," the warranty does not apply, yet the customer is still required to pay deductible. Daryl deceitfully fabricated the conditions of the utility room and condition of the water heater which was manufactured less than 2 years ago in order to collect a $100 deductible.
His verbal explanation of the issue was related to faulty parts and he made no mention of malfunction due to unsatisfactory conditions. He stated once he receives the parts he would contact me to schedule the repair. He then purposely charged me $7 more than the deductible amount and within minutes of leaving, cashed the check. Shortly after, I received a call that his services and any further services would not be covered.
After following up with the Home Warranty Company they stated that he service charge is $70 and I should be refunded $37 from the $107 deductible as no repair service was provided. After the Home Warranty company contacted Daryl he continued to lie and stated that due to the placement of the water heater, he had to "move items" in order to get to the water heater. This in itself constituted a "service repair." Another lie... the utility room consists of a washer/dryer, furnace and water heater. Nothing needed to be moved nor did he move 1 item in the utility room.
This guy is unprofessional, unreliable and a con artist. DO NOT pay for his services.

I had the exact same scam done to me through Home Warranty. Do not use Daryl Bergenback of Temp. Control. I am submitting a claim to the better business bureau in hopes that he is dealt with. If you have Weichert Home Warranty.... say "no to Temp. Control". I am being refunded for his visit to my home due to the misdiagnosis of my system.
