    Terry Kelly was referred to me through a friend so I thought it was a good connection. He did not perform any work or service just looked at the boiler. He gave me a quote which was in line with another quote I received two days earlier from a licensed plumber. I had received a previous quote for 5,500 to 6,500, but it would be 3 to 4 weeks before they were available to install the boiler. So, I accepted Terry Kelly's quote and we agreed he would start working the following week. Two or Three days after the quote, he called me and told me he felt like he was being robbed because his friends told him he quoted the job too low and now wanted 8k. He said that he should have quoted me 10k and then came in at 8k so he'd look like a fucking god! I told him that I was sorry but I would not pay 8k as he had quoted 6k. He said he would not honor the quote and he realized he needed to eat 140 that he claimed he gave to an electrician. He apologized and asked me not to hate him. I told him no hard feelings and that i would look to see if the previous plumber was still available. This is when the real fun starts. Almost a week later I start receiving what sounds like drunken calls asking me if I found somone and not to hate him. I receive a few of these calls. I told him I was fine and that I was still looking for someone. I then received a 4th call again asking me not to hate him then he proceeds to tell me he now thinks I should pay him for the electrician. I told him i did not ask for an electrician and there was never any work done at the house. I reminded him that he backed out of the job and did not honor our agreement. He said he understood he just felt like I owed him. About an hour later, i receive a handwritten bill via text upwards of 800 dollars. Remember all he did was provide a quote and that's all I asked for, he never performed any work. From that point i received another text telling me he called the town I live in along with state inspectors telling them I was trying to install a boiler without pulling permits. And just when you think this guy could not get any scarier, he parked across the street from my house watching me very creepy. I had several quotes none of them charged me, except one and he actually tried to service the boiler but only charged me $20 dollars, and provided the first quote. At the end of the day the issue was the master crontrol was shorting out. The boiler was fixed and master control found and replaced for a total of $380.00. that is a far cry from $8,000. No electrician was ever needed nor warranted.

    First, I would like to respond to the claim from April Ruiz-Bassett of 77 Main Street in Kingston Ma who only stated she was a user from Cambridge. I hereby state that almost all of her comments were a complete lie and fabrication. I sent April a written invoice for $620.00 but asked her to pay only $200.00 in the invoice for making 3 service trips to her house to try to get her 30 year old steam boiler working. I met with 2 electricians (paying 1 of them $140.00 cash) to try to get the boiler working. After speaking with Burnham co, and explaining boiler was 30 years old, it was determined it would be best to replace boiler. April stated she had a quote of $6000 to replace the boiler. I told her I would be glad to help her out. After pricing out boiler,materials, labor, permits etc my quote came out to $8,000. My fault for agreeing to something without checking. I have never parked across the street from her house. I have never called or threatened to call state inspectors. In 40 years of plumbing, I have never had someone call for help to get their boiler working when they have no heat and not expect a bill. I asked for about 1/3 of what it cost me. I feel what April Ruiz stated was wrong. Thank You Terence Kelly
