I would NOT recommend Texan Concrete or Rudy based on our experience.
We hired Texan Concrete to build what should have been a fairly simple metal carport for our business in Lewisville, Texas. We paid half of the project cost upfront and then paid the remaining balance because we believed the project had been completed properly.
Unfortunately, when the City came out to inspect the work, we received a RED TAG for several issues. We learned that the carport had not been built according to the engineer's approved plans, including the metal beams being the wrong sizes. Because of this, we ultimately had to hire another contractor to remove the incorrect beams and install the proper sizes required by the engineered plans.
What made the situation even more frustrating was our repeated effort to give Rudy the opportunity to correct his work. For several months, we contacted him asking him to return and complete the necessary corrections so we could pass inspection and receive a green tag. He repeatedly failed to resolve the problem.
When Rudy finally came back, he gave us an excuse for why the work had not been completed and said that additional materials were needed. We told him that was fine and that we would purchase the additional materials ourselves and have them delivered directly to the job site so he could finish the work. Once we made it clear that we would purchase the materials ourselves rather than giving him additional money directly, he backed away and did not finish the job.
We paid Texan Concrete in full expecting a completed project that followed the engineered plans and could pass City inspection. Instead, we were left with a red-tagged structure, months of frustration, additional expenses, and the cost of hiring another contractor to correct the work.
Based on our experience, I would never hire Texan Concrete again and cannot recommend this company to another business or property owner. If you choose to work with them, I strongly recommend verifying that all work matches the approved engineered plans before making final payment and having the work inspected before considering the project complete.
