Doesn't know how to stick to a budget or a timeline, both ended up double what he bid. We might lose our house because we have had to extend construction loan for a year and half more than planned. Feels like he is passive aggressively trying to ruin us and never finish project. Never got even weekly updates or changes to budget in writing, and GC is only on site briefly, if at all, each day, everyone always leaves early. Hires people to work hourly who then putz around and take weeks to finish jobs that should take days. Doesn't hire people who clean up after their own work and will charge YOU $1000/wk to have someone clean up the job site! High quality finish work isn't worth dealing with this contractor unless time and money are no concern. Make sure your contract includes a liquidated damages clause.
