We signed the contract on 9/12/20, and the project was completed eight months later after going back and forth for months. I wish I did more research and read the reviews for this company before I went with them because all of the negative reviews are on 100%. I am a small business owner and a Mental Health Therapist, so I like to think that I am understanding and compassionate. However, this company has poor customer service, poor organization, poor communication skills, and an owner Nicky who struggles to take ownership of her company's mistakes. I was very understanding as things came up as this was a custom built-in office and laundry room, but week after week, I would catch mistakes such as wrong colors on panels, drawers, and backing not properly installed, the list goes on. The owner Nicky told me a few weeks ago that they delivered the project, so I should be happy that they came out for everything I was "Nip picking" about and blamed the customer for the delay. She took no accountability, which I shared was difficult for me given that since day 1 of install, I was inconvenienced as the customer. There was no remorse for how the company played a role. Also, if I am spending $20,000+ on this project and I wanted to "Nip Pick," I would, but my "Nip Picking" was correcting the mistakes they made.
As I said, the problems started from the first day of install with them installing the built-in desk, not at all how the design as pictured. Again, I was calm and shared my concerns, and it would take weeks for them to respond or fix. Scheduling was always an issue from them telling me they were coming on a given day and having to take off work for nothing because they would not show up; this happened at least two times. Then on other days, they come for 1 hour and say they are coming back and never return; this happened too often that I lost count. Appointments were scheduled, and my husband or I would sit at home wondering if they were coming, and I would need to call and confirm since they do not provide you with a time frame on things and leave you in the dark.
Did they fix and install my project? YES - 6 months overdue! The experience is one that I do not wish on anyone. This should have been a happy moment for my husband and I; rather, it was eight months of stress and frustration. I was very kind in sharing my frustrations. A few weeks ago, I got the owner on the phone (by mistake) and told her again (we have talked before) that I was very disappointed with how things unfolded and the lack of professionalism and communication. I was met with a dismissive attitude and someone that I genuinely feel sad for because she was unable to validate a customer. When asked how the company would make it right in terms of compensation, I got dismissed and rushed off the phone. I later got a call from the General Manager, who, months prior, told me that we would be compensated. He called after my request to tell me that he does not make these decisions; therefore, this couldn't be done. This continued to feed my feelings of being overly promised and underdelivered, so I resorted to letting them know if I was not compensated for my troubles, I would leave reviews on every social media platform for months at a time. I then got told they would take off 2% from my total, and I came back and told them if we made it 4%, I would feel a little better about things but was told that it was 2% or nothing. It was the principle, and this company is selfish and can't communicate with themselves nor their customers.
Spare yourself the headache and do your research, my husband is a Lawyer, and you would think it would be drilled in my head by now. I went with the first company I found and didn't do my research and paying the price.
