  Gut Renovation and New Construction

  My experience with The Company / Jim Vogel has led to hundreds of thousands of dollars in construction defect and repairs. I'm now in a legal dispute with someone who was paid to gut renovate my home but instead left me with a faulty wood floor installation, faulty siding installation, broken skylights, windows that do not open, a 1 1/4" deflection in the new construction, cracked cement floors just months after it was pored. All four of my brand new bathrooms needed repair for leaks and faulty tile installation. This is a man who has no work ethic, no sense of responsibility and could care less about the damage he's caused. He just defers to his insurance company to handle the claims. Pls know insurance companies do not cover shoddy workmanship, just the result of shoddy workmanship. And thus that allows Jim Vogel to continue to prey upon consumers.

  Gut renovation plus second story addition

  RUN DON"T WALK AS FAST AND AS FAR FROM THIS MAN AS YOU CAN!!! My wife and I hired The Company which is owned by Jim Vogel. He also does work under the business name of "Vogel Corporation". "The Company" and "Vogel Corporation" sound impressive, but he is one person, has subcontracts out almost 100% of his work. We unfortunately hired Jim Vogel from a recommendation from our architect which we now regret incredibly. We bought a home to gut renovate and to build an addition to. The house is a mid century modern designed home. The long and short is, Jim Vogel was often absent and not onsite at our job, our project took an additional year and a half from his contract timeframe of eight months and when we moved in we had MASSIVE building defects. We have floors out of level, a very expensive radiant in floor heating system which doesn't work properly, a basement cement floor has cracking throughout the room and now we can see radiant tubing below the cracks which are approaching 1/8" in width, we have walls out of square and plumb, damaged brand new skylights, left doors and parts of walls unpainted, a leaking shower the first time it was used, his floor sub contractor used cheap inferior wood on our oak wood floors that had to be refinished, the framing for our outside deck that had to be redone, he used nails on our siding instead of the invisible clip system that came with it and completely marred the look while voiding the manufacturers warranty on it, oh and the siding is already falling off the house six months after moving in. The list goes on and on and on. As I said above, RUN DON"T WALK just as fast as you can away from this guy and his sub par collection of sub contractors, as the quality of work and personnel is just abysmal. Do NOT be fooled by the five star reviews here on HomeAdvisor, you'll notice they are all for handyman work which is, exactly what he is, a glorified handyman nothing else.
