We are big enough to serve you, but small enough to care. In additional to new concrete work, we offer complete tear out and removal with our own heavy equipment.     Planned on hiring him for a concrete pool deck

    I contacted Tony the Concrete Man about having a pool deck added. The interaction started off well enough... Then, he emailed me at 8:30pm on a Tuesday and asked if I'd be available for an on-site estimate in the morning. I work nights, so I had responded as quickly as I could've, which was at midnight. I'd stated that I was available and that I would be home all morning. The next morning (Wednesday) came and went, and at noon, I accepted that he wouldn't be coming. He never called/emailed to cancel or to reschedule. I don't understand why he would ask via email so late in the evening about being able to come out the very next morning, if HE wasn't even available.

    On Thursday at 5:30pm, I received a call from him asking if he could 'swing by' to do the estimate. His ETA would've been 15-20 minutes. I told him it wasn't a good time and asked if we could schedule a time/date that would work for both of us. He gave an excuse along the lines of him not being able to commit to a schedule because of concrete jobs vs. rainy weather. (Which I can understand how weather can dictate concrete jobs, but since he made it known that he's the owner/estimator/etc, as a business owner, perhaps he might consider carving out time daily outside of the concrete work in order to meet with prospective customers for estimates.) He never acknowledged or apologized for not coming out on Wednesday.

    I asked him if he could come to the property the next day (Friday), to which he said no. I felt backed into a corner with his abrupt opening in scheduling and told him he could come over for the estimate in his predetermined 15-20-minute-notice. Instead of showing up, he called me back 20 minutes later and declined the job. He basically stated that he's never had this much trouble scheduling with people and that he had a bad vibe. Not once was I rude to him on any of the three calls, even after I waited all morning for him to show. Perhaps he took me saying "fine" about him coming for the sudden estimate as rude, I don't know. Perhaps he's used to keeping all his customers at his mercy when it comes to scheduling things. He has no professional consideration for other people's time. It's for the best that he declined the job. Customers should be treated better than this.

    Construct a concrete patio

    Tony was fabulous. He constructed a large concrete patio for us consisting of approximately 800 sq. feet. He did what he said he was going to do and was very timely. I felt we could depend on him. He and his crew did a great job. I highly recommend him. Barbara and Jim Hughes
