    They were hired to install fiberglass tub and surround in a 1 bathroom home built in the 70's. When install began they ran into problems that were beyond their realm of expertise. They definitely stand behind their motto we are not responsible for any damage to surrounding materials. New tub and surround did not fit back into the slot, after removing sheetrock that was behind the previous surround there is now over 2" gap so surround could not be fastened to 2x4. At this point, it is beyond their area of expertise instead of walking away and charging for only work done they "try" to complete. This is the gray area owner said they put up fiberglass initially and had no way to secure as there is a gap of approx. 2-3" and said you can't leave it like that it needs something to secure it to. Flush Brigade claims client said he would assist to find a way to secure it and would shore it up somehow. They admitted on the site they had never encountered this problem before. Being that I was asked to see if I could fix the tile where it was removed and sheetrock damaged and replace surround tile I don't think client had the intention of building a false wall 2 to 3" thick to bring wall flush with surround as the client wanted to keep existing tile. To keep existing tile this would not be possible as when you remove tile from sheet rock tiles will break. Now I must remove all the tile on the back upper wall build up a false wall and re-tile with new tile this will now involve removing all the tile on the upper wall Regardless of what was said between owner and the guys on job site they should have cut their losses perhaps just charged for the 4-5 hours of work and left instead they continued with job. They claim they completed the job the way the client wanted however if that was the case why am I called to fix this disaster? There is no pride in their work otherwise, they would not have left the mess they made. They should be ashamed of the hack job they performed. If you are going to say you can replace tubs you should be prepared and have some basic knowledge of construction as these types of situations will arise. They feel they are in the right because we are not responsible for damage when installing and they feel justified because from their side they say client wanted it this way. The client had 1 bathroom in the house needed a shower and paid for a job to be done. Really who wants their bathroom a hacked up. After having a conversation with them they still feel they are in the right as they did what client wanted. They feel no regret have not offered to try to help to make it right they just took 1700 and washed their hands. I would not hire these guys for anything after speaking with them and their lack of integrity, the concern that job was not satisfactory, and no pride in the appearance of their work. Somehow I just feel that they just want to do the bare minimum to collect their money. They are even aware that I am going to give reviews and post the pictures with it and they are O.K. with it. Why you ask because they feel that they did their job. Just because someone wants something doesn't mean you have to do it think about it use good judgment is this job if completed like this going to come back to bite you. In this case, it is so bad yes. Not to mention I feel that they have taken advantage of two senior citizens all over and I quote" we had 4 or 5 hours of work invested". It was all about the money, not a job done with integrity. If you can't do it properly walk away. I found some pictures on Handyman.com keep in mind this is a how-to for homeowners to replace a fiberglass tub and surround. The first step is to cut sheet rock straight across at least 1". Granted surround tile needed to be removed first which they did no evidence they even attempted to make a straight cut anywhere. Then a nailer board is installed at edges no evidence of that either. When their surround is reinstalled there seems to be minimal gapping and holes? I guess if you are JUST A PLUMER that is all you are worried about and nothing else just the plumbing doesn't matter how it gets done. It's all about taking the time to do it RIGHT.
