    Remodel

We used the handyman box for a substantial renovation on our kitchen and bathroom. Dan was very informative and gave us excellent ideas. We couldn’t be happier with the end result. We would definitely recommend him to all of our friends!

    Interior Remodel
    $10,000

I hired the owner, Dan Burg, to do a small remodeling job for $10K. He did not provide me with a written contract. He used totally unskilled laborers to do the work, unsupervised by him while he went off and did other jobs. The result was a mess. The drywall was only partially attached to studs with much of it free-floating, and they used thick coats of mud the now have to be sanded down. When I complained, I got excuses, like they have to learn from their mistakes. But he was never around to explain their mistakes or guide them. He also kept asking for more money after the initial $5K was paid, with explanations like his workers have to pay their rent, until the full $10K was paid yet the job was far from complete. After that, they came very infrequently, saying they would complete the work, but they had other jobs to do. In the end, the job was unfinished for me to complete myself. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else.

We are sorry you feel this way. Holding our tools for ransom does change a working relationship. Additionally we did everything we could to finish your remodel. Your job had 17 change orders in a 2 week span. None of them you wanted to pay for. we wish you luck in your future endeavors.
